Great read but needs proof reading!
Had to read this book after watching Narcos! Fascinating story. Would have liked to have seen the photos. Seems to be a lack of proof reading! And where are Escobar's millions?!

Incredible story
While I found the stories incredibly interesting, I didn't feel it was as revealing as I first thought it might be. He's clearly lived an unbelievable life, terrifying and exciting in equal measure. However, when the story focussed more on the political and legalities it didn't feel as much like it was being told through the eyes of the author - it was more like any other narrative on Columbia in the 70s & 80s, so that was the only reason i scored it a 3. I'm also not sure the whole secret code was needed - it felt a bit of a gimic, although like many elements of this tale it could well be true! I think the author is incredible man, and it's amazing he's not in a clinic or heavily on substances. He seems so humble, and a tribute to his own mental strength. Great travel book

Murders, C.I.A. MI6. Hidden millions. Pablo Escobar - riveting read!
Excellent read. Opens up the real truth about how C.I.A. and MI6 do business with the underworld. A fascinating true life storey of Pablo Escobar's first born son, adopted by a British MI6 agent in Colombia and schooled in England. Highly recommended read!

Unbelievable
I was intrigued to read this after seeing various interviews on TV by the author. Wow, where to start?!It doesn’t have much flow and I found it frustrating to follow. It can’t have been proofread as throughout the book there are words missing, an extra word here and there and even misspelled words.I find it very hard to believe the storyline is actually true. There are so many inconsistencies with dates and the reason for the age change is inconceivable. I can’t understand why an MI6 agent would need to go to those lengths and if it’s only for a temporary passport, why when he gets to school in the U.K, is he still in classes with kids three years older?! Why is he in classes with older kids in Colombia, surely, it’s very obvious at that age! I’m pretty sure you could travel on your parent’s passport back then too, so it doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe it’s because of the adoption laws, I don’t know, but pretty sure passports had photos in 1967…. a two year old and a five year old look very different.I'm left confused when it comes to the documentation. The author mentions the document, found by Pat at the shoot-out, 'appears to be the birth certificate' and is an 'official document'. He then says the birth/baptism document is the only document in existence to confirm he is the son of Pablo Escobar. This document has the date of 11th Dec at the bottom, so it's not the same one that was given to Pat, so where is that? He also says he was formally baptised on the 11th Dec but the document says he was baptised on the 21st Sept, it's very confusing to follow. It all seems a bit sketchy. What I found the most baffling though was the incredible memory of the author. Sure, there must be some embellishing for the sake of the book I suppose, but trying to believe the vivid memories of a four year old is a push, but a baby at only a few weeks old?? I just couldn’t get drawn in.I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you’re really curious to read it, I see its now less than half the price I paid! To be honest, after reading the other reviews and seeing the inews article, I’d like a refund!
