DRILLNADOXL with Acrylic Guard

Pros:Solid attachment to drill.Simple to detach bib for drill changes (but see below).Good suction.Cons:Flimsy bib — they send an extra one and I see why.Removing the bib to change bits invariably means lowering the table. Annoying but worse if you’re set up for consistent depth cuts.I may do a diy replacement with HVAC parts that can be permanently mounted.

The Drillnado XL works excellent for me. It collects virtually every piece of dust and chips. I have tried it with small twist bits as small as 7/64"... up to 1" forstner bits. Even with the 1" bit, it sucked up every bit of chips! I have a 2.5" dust collection hose hooked up from the drill press to my main collection line which goes to 4" and then 6" further down the line. I am using a 3HP stationary Grizzly dust collector. I installed a separate blast gate specifically for the drill press, which probably makes a difference when all other gates are closed and only that one open. The suction is amazing. So far I have no complaints about this product. Finally good dust collection for the drill press!

Good concept, cheap implementation. Bellows are very cheap feeling material, easily deformed permanently (mine arrived dented) overly stiff and not flexible. Bracket nicely molded, but cumbersome and in the way, visually and physically. Wish it were worth the trouble, but not. Better off with a fence and vacuum attachment, or a table dustbox.

The Drillnado XL does exactly what it is advertised to do. I put it on my new drill press and to try it I drilled four 1/4" holes and six holes with a 1" Forstner bit. In both cases, all of the shavings were picked up by the Drillnado. I am amazed at how well this product works and it is still easy to change bits and operate the drill press. If you want to stop your drill press from sending wood chips all over your shop, the Drillnade will do just that.

I little overpriced for what it is...in my opinion, I think a competitor in this market would lower their price significantly.Though fit and finish of this product are pretty good, it still relies on a "snap in fit" at the bottom (white section) instead of a bayonet style lock into place. I think that sooner or later, depending on use of the drillpress, you will experience failure of that snap fit. I would certainly prefer a bayonet style lock so it doesnt wear out as fast...

Why do the instructions specifically spell out 2.36 diameter quill and then not provide a spacer to make that diameter leaving it up to the consumer to make this by sanding it. If the 2.36 diameter is a known size make a spacer in that size don't have the consumer sand .12 inches off of the inner diameter. For this price it should adapt to the most common sizes.

Was a bit concerned how well this would work with larger forstner bits (1 ½ inch) but was presently surprised that it did very well. The only complaint I have is that the unit on my drill press leaves very little room to get at the check to install and tighten to bits.
