Siya Oum hits a homerun with Lola XoXo
The art in this book is amazing. The writing in this book is amazing. What is more amazing is this entire graphic novel was written and illustrated by one women, the talented and awesome Siya Oum whom I had only recently become aware of.In any event, the story is about a girl, LolA who witnesses the transition of modern times into a post apocalyptic era. The book skips ahead 10 to 15 years or so to when the girl is coming of age and wants to find her parents. Luckily at the end of the world Lola found a new family but she wants to get out there and see the world to find her parents so she gets into some trouble with the most powerful merchant (which are traders/caravans as far as I can tell).Throughout the story you see Lola's thoughts penned as letters to her Mother and Father (whom she hopes to deliver them to some day) and she signs the letters "Lola XoXo."The coloring of this book alone is amazing and draws you into every panel. The line work of the art is awesome and you can tell Siya put a lot of effort into the art.Don't believe me? Check out her Youtube, Instagram and Twitter where she shows how she draws and some of the tutorials/vids are directly about Lola itself. Enjoy!

Stunning!
Firstly, I would like to say that I am very impressed by the fact that Siya Oum both wrote and illustrated this comic. The writing and visuals have been given equal attention and are highly refined. As a comic writer, Oum has done an excellent job. The story is clear, concise, and keeps the reader’s attention. Not once did I find myself bored or confused. Oum introduced a large number of characters and thus side plots into the story, but she did so in a way that made sense and piqued my interest more each time. And at the end, she had them all converge beautifully with plenty of drama. Granted, I have many questions that are still unanswered, but this is only the first volume and the main essence of this story and world is mystery. I am left with a strong desire to find out what caused the apocalyptic events that set the stage for the story. I want to know if Lola will find her parents, if they are still alive. I want to know what kinds of trials will face Oum’s intrepid group of heroes and misfits next. Truly a fantastic read!Oum’s artwork is also fantastic. Her character designs are superb and well-thought out. The colors of the comic and the watercolor-esque painterly style created with copic markers are really a joy to look at it. And her attention to detail in the characters’ body language and facial expressions makes the comic come to life on each page.Overall, I really enjoyed reading Oum’s exciting introduction to this intriguing world she has set up. I can’t wait to read the next volume!

Fantastic comic!
I found comic 3, 4, and 5 at a comic shop and was super bummed I couldn't find the first 2. When I googled it and saw it on Amazon, I bought the full first volume right away! The art style is amazing, and it has a great post-apocalyptic storyline.

Excelente!!
