MARY JOYCE: TAKU TO FAIRBANKS, 1,000 MILES BY DOGTEAM

Good account of an interesting woman.

Mary Joyce was an amazing woman who in her early 30's, sets out on a 1,000 mile dog sled trek on largely uncharted terrain - alone. Her entire life was not only cutting edge for a woman but indeed for any human being. And she succeeded famously. Wish I could have met her.

Many women worked to build this country "out of the limelight" so to speak, and as I had cause to visit Taku Lodge this fall, was completely enamoured with the very amazing life of Mary Joyce. What a truely amazing, head strong woman, and I thank God for her and all like her who dared to be non-conformists in a dominately male environment!!!

Couldn't put it down, what a brave and wonderful woman would have loved to meet her! I can not imagine the energy for her life
