Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voyager Book 16)

A must read for any Seven of Nine fan
(Teenage daughter writing on Mom's account)I REALLY loved this book! Being a huge Seven of Nine fan, my sister bought this book for me for my birthday, and I was immediately hooked. Seven of Nine is written beautifully, and there were moments that made me laugh out loud for minutes on end. (Her reaction to slang phrases, for example. Lol...).There were times, however, where I got bored of hearing about the new alien species in the book, especially when the book refocused itself on them instead of Seven, particularly in the very beginning. But the book as a whole was exciting and enjoyable, and a must read for anyone who loves the character of Seven. If you are a Seven of Nine fan, I strongly suggest that you read this book.

Excellent!
I have very recently become pretty much obsessed with Seven of Nine (thanks to Star Trek Picard). I didn't love her when I first watched Voyager, so now I'm kind of making it a point to go back and appreciate the character with new eyes. That meant, of course, diving into the books that I've kind of ignored or skipped over because I didn't want to read things that focused on her character. This was the first of those books that I read, and I have to say that it didn't disappoint at all!In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the way that Seven was being represented. However, this version of her really grew on me as time went on.I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to any fan of the Star Trek novels, but I especially recommend it to those who love Seven of Nine!

Fascinating!
I liked the insight of how her victims felt from their point of view and how it devastated her. Not that I wish her harm but that she understood the pain she, as a Borg, caused and the remorse she felt. And I liked that her human self came to visit her and give her strength.

Nice reading
Although inspired byan episode Raven from Voyager series, the story is very well told. The storyline is absorbing and it was difficult for me to leave the book aside. I recommed the book to all ST: Voyager fans.

Seven
The seven book its quite different from the other voyager books. It uses alot of confusion in Seven's mind which I found too boring. I would have loved more action than psychological difficulties. At times I wanted to give up on the book, as it tediously droned about the birds. Janeway was not in the book enough as she carries the other books.

I was a little disappointed
I generally like Christie Golden books. However, this story was rather boring and safe. It was a quick read and I kept hoping it would get better. It has a predictable plot and not much action. The characters seemed muted and off. Seven sounded mechanical, Janeway shallow and the Doctor was dumbed down. This book is just ok. I've read much better. Hope this review helps. Section 31 by Dean Wesley Smith is more true to characters.

Seven of Nine
The book was in excellent condition, and arrived very fast. I just finished reading it, and I enjoyed it very much. So far I have enjoyed all of Christie Golden's Star Trek books. I recommend her highly.

A truly captivating story!
Seven of Nine is one of the characters in Voyager that I like the least. That said I'd still only heard good things about this book before I read it, due to that and the fact that it's written by Christie Golden I still had high hopes that I would like the book. And I did. In fact, I loved it. Although it focuses on Seven of Nine it's not just a book solely about her. It's also a book with a great storyline involving interesting aliens including both reptilian and insectoid beings. It's a book that's written in a brilliant way and offers a story that's truly captivating.I'll end this review by saying that I would have loved to have seen this book as an episode. It's simply that good.

Original and Engrossing Story.
This book was well written and original in its storyline. Seven of Nine is an interesting character as a former Borg. The story had drama and action in good measure. The plot was developed smoothly and played out interestingly. A great story of Star Trek Voyager's collection.

Disturbing read through my own voyage in a truly lost world
The author led me to believe this story was consistent with the life of the characters and previous story lines and yet showed a promissory hope for seven.
