Great lock for remote property managers
This lock works great for remote property management. It has an internal ID and algorithm that works in synchronization with the resortlock website you setup so you can generate a code that is only valid between two times that you can give to your guest for check-in. You have to get the time and date and daylight-savings-time programmed into the lock correctly and I recommend that you test this once you have done so. It take 4 AA batteries which seem to last a long time. I try to change them about every 1/2 year but I've gone longer and they have never worn out.The lock is rather expensive at ~$300. I would have given it 5 stars but I have two condos and have had to replace the lock on each one after about two years. One of them failed because the cable from the front keypad to the back circuit board disconnected at the wiring. This could have been because I moved the lock between two doors and I may have stretched it in doing this so I'll give a pass on this problem. However, the other one failed because the nut that holds the front handle loosened up and then the front handle disconnected which is definitely a design/assembly flaw in my opinion. Finally, I purchased a chrome finish but it does start to pit and corrode when near the ocean as my condos are. However, I imagine this would happen with any lock.Given the time and expense it saves me of having a property manager, I still think this lock is great.

Warranty replacement required and customer support is improving.
This lock was purchased in December of 2018. After four months of use, the keypad became faulty. Key presses weren't registered or there would be a long delay in receiving an acknowledgment tone once it was pressed. Called customer support which is only an answering service. They couldn't provide any support and had to refer me to a different department that was suppose to call me back. Never received a call from their technical support team. This company only operates 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Sent an email to [email protected], only received an automated response. This is our second lock with this company. We previously owned an RL4000 that failed, but it was already out of warranty.4-23-19 Update: Received emails over the weekend and a phone call today from a Customer Support Manager. Replacement lock and return shipping label is being provided under warranty. The representative acknowledged the gaps in customer support and expects it to improve in the future. Failure mechanism in the keypad circuit board has been identified and improved design is being implemented.

A short term rental unit dream come true.
I have 2 rental units on the beach in Daytona. I purchased one of these remote door locks about 2 years ago and purchased this one on Amazon about 1 year ago. They are the best investment I have made for my rental units to date. I don't have to worry about keys floating around that a previous renter may have copied or lost and I can rent a unit, get paid on my iPhone, created a code on my iPhone, and have a renter in the unit within minutes (and I live 70 miles away). I love the fact that the created code works for ONLY the time specified. Also, the 10 digit code created on the Resort Lock web site can be simply reprogrammed by the renter to a 3 or 4 digit code of their choice. There are absolutly no extra monthly or annual fees and the customer support is great. The only problem that I have had to date is that a wire got pinched internally and the little wiring harness inside had to be replaced. Resort Lock sent me one free of charge.Follow up 6/26/16: These locks still work great and could not do without them.

I absolutely love it. We installed one at our winter condo ...
I am surprised at some of the negative reviews of this product. I absolutely love it. We installed one at our winter condo in FL and it has worked beautifully. I love being able to email someone a code so they can access the property to clean or do repairs. I especially like being able to generate codes that work for a specific period of time. No worrying that someone will come back later with a few friends and rob the place! It has been in use for about 4 years (a couple of miles from the Gulf) and we have never had a problem with it. It isn't cheap but I think it is money well spent. In fact, I have purchased two more Resort Locks to install at other properties. Highly recommended!

Great idea shame it is rubbish.
We have a vacation rental in Florida - and the lock means that we give each guest a totally unique code for the duration of their stay only - not only are we pleased with it but our guests are happy too. Easy to fit and program. Well built.Only down side - came without the log in details and password need to generate remote codes - but soon got information from the Resort Lock people.Update a year later we have had to return the lock for repair once when the handle was loose and the door not locking. Took ages to get it back, arrived loose in a box (despite being told when we shipped it back to THEM that it needed to be securely packaged. Worked for a our a month and now generated codes will not work, only permanent ones, then over-ride key did not work. So can not trust it. Guests phoned me at 3.30am to say they could not get in the home. I about to send it back as not fit for purpose that it was sold to me. Hope the US sale of goods act is similar to UK.
