One more Lacerda masterpiece!
I have to admit, though I have been playing RPGs for a long time, I was not really into board games; it is a fairly new world for me.So when I started looking into quality games, one name stood out right away: Vital Lacerda.CO2 is one of his earlier games (2012) which was then reimplemented in 2018 as CO2: Second Chance.Aside from a few changes in the overall rules, the main thing of Second Chance is that the game board has two sides. On one side you play the "old" version of the game, which is competitive (though you still aim at saving the world from critical levels of pollution), while on the other side you play a full co-op version. The game is VERY rich, with amazing artwork and style. What strikes me (always) is that Lacerda tends to pick themes that we cal somewhat all relate to: wines, space exploration, pollution, automotive industry, history of a city, art... And once he picks the theme, he develops a game based on elements from the real thing: science, historical facts, art business, wine making techniques and so on.So not only you play a game, but you end up learning and becoming more knowledgeable about things that in one way or another have an impact in your life.Great game, a pleasure to play.
