Tervis 6pk Asst Color Straws

I usually like the Reuseable Plastic Straws. I use them a lot and I went out and got brushes to wash out the inside of straw to get it very clean, which is VERY important to keep out fibers and bacteria forming inside the straws from different juices, smoothies and other beverages. I bought these straws because their ratings were pretty good. I was moving at the time they were delivered, so I put them in a tote with some other kitchen supplies that I didn't want to unpack until after the move. We found the tote recently and I took these out to was and let dry and while it is harder to see on the picture and I don't remember seeing when I bought them, they are completely accordion pleated. These will be very difficult to clean properly, even with a brush, because of all the pleats. It would be different if there was just a pleat or two so the straw could bend, but the ENTIRE straw pleated does not seem necessary. On the packaging it says top rack dishwasher safe only. My question is......How clean would a straw get deep down In the pleats if the straw was laying down on the rack? These are long straws and how can you make them stand up on the top rack of the dishwasher!!! I will use them a little, but not long at all because of the inability to properly clean them, so I consider them a waste of money. I gave them three stars because they are the size of the straw on the product page, they don't feel too cheap and I am sure that there are lots of people who either don't mind spending the amount for six barely reusable plastic straws and lots of people who either don't care or don't realize the danger of not washing these straws very carefully. I am a nurse so I am more likely to take notice of things like this. And I didn't mention another con for these straws........if they are not completely dry mold could form inside the pleating. So if you are not too concerned, buy them, by all means, but I feel that the cons weigh out the pros on this product.

Good product

This item was advertised as an addition to the child’s Tervis cup I ordered. Unfortunately the straw is too big to fit in the slot on the lid of the cup. So I can not use them.

They last 2-3years. dishwasher safe and fit perfectly into the Tervis lids. The only thing is if you put them into a draw wet they can get mold in the ridges. Just get some pipe cleaners and give the ridges inside a cleaning once in a while or make sure they are dry before you put them away.

These are sturdy straws with flexible sides. They were advertised with the children's 10 oz. Tervis Tumbler. They DO NOT fit into the opening on a 10 oz. Lid. You may have to order a special Tervis lid designed for straws.

I love these straws to use with my Tervis tumblers. They are long enough to use with the 24 oz cups and still have plenty of straw. I even use them with other cups when I want a straw. The reason why I didn't give this 5 stars was that they are difficult to clean. When I have smoothies the liquid is thicker and often gets stuck in the ridges of the straw. This makes it difficult to clean. I think most straws are probably this way, and I'll probably have to get some pipe cleaners to get the gunk out of the straw.

I was buying these one off at a local store for the tumbler I keep at work. The package is a much better deal. When I had to wash the only straw I had I no longer had one at work (I just drink water at work). My wife also took a couple straws for herself. These are good straws that last a good amount of time with daily use and washing in the dishwasher. I like that they can go in the dishwasher and not be a problem. Very happy. I would buy again if I need to.

Strong design. Looks like they’ll last a while. Fits into my Denver broncos tervis cup well. Just a bit expensive.
