Exactly what I needed for my M1 Mac mini
So I love my M1 Mac Mini but I had two external disks (since I had them on hand) that I used for local additional storage (I take a lot of photos and didn't want to clog my Mac Mini's SSD) and one that I used for Time Machine backups. And, as we all know, the lack of ports and SD card reader can sometimes be a problem. But the biggest issue, is that my Mac sat next to me and the whole thing just looked messy. A slew of cables to the external drives, 2 black external drives and it was bugging me.Enter this device. I didn't get it free. This isn't a paid review... I paid for this hub. Here's what I love about it. It is ever so slightly larger than the Mac by maybe a few millimeters, if that, so my Mac sits perfectly on top. The color isn't a 100% match, as others have noted, but it is probably 98% and if your Mac is sitting on top, who cares, right? You can see how close they are in the picture. It has eliminated my clutter issue. Both external drives are gone. Inside, I installed a 1TB NVMe drive that I use for my fast local storage and a 2 TB Seagate 2.5 drive for Time Machine. Now I have a nice clean desktop! No more clutter. Just the Mac and this device. In one unit, I have two separate drives, so if my fast local storage failed, my Time Machine didn't. (And yes, like anyone, aside from iCloud I do make additional periodic backups to an external Time Machine disk.)Anyway, it will do wonders to clean up your desktop. And in front you get 2 USB 3.0 A type ports, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 A type port, a USB C port, SD/TF ports and indicator lights showing that the hub is active, the NVMe is being accessed and the HDD is being accessed. For my uses, and what I wanted to accomplish, it has worked flawlessly. No errors. Drives all accessed easily and quickly. All front ports working.AN IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using both drives like I am, it is important that you connect both USB-C ports on the hub to your Mac Mini using either the included cables or your own. The power draw between the hub, and powering a rotating HDD plus an NVMe can cause intermittent issues if you don't connect both. One for power, one for data. It is described in the instruction manual and if you just do it, you will have a trouble-free experience with this device. I tried it without the second USB-C to USB-A connected and the NVMe acted like it "ejected" improperly from time to time. By connecting both cables, it is flawless and all ports in front are powered.A TIP: I stuck a piece of double-stick Velcro between my Mac and the Hub so that when my Mac was on top, it did not slide if I was plugging something into the hub. This is no fault of the hub. The Mac's "foot" as you know is the circular plastic bottom which can slide on top of the smooth aluminum of the hub. A little Velcro did the trick.A BONUS: Hagibis paid attention to detail. The LEDs they used are the same size, intensity and brightness of the one on the Mac Mini. As a result, the white LED that represents the HDD being accessed in the hub lines up with the white LED on your Mac. The blue and green LED are the same size. Nice attention to detail.SURPRISING: There is a plastic "door" on the bottom of the hub that you remove to insert the HDD or NVMe drives. They supply screws to secure it and foam to keep you drive tightly in place. I was pleasantly surprised that they included extra screws, several rubber NVMe holders and a screw driver! You don't have to try and find a mini screw driver to install the screws as they supply one.Overall, for me, for how I use my Mac, this is EXACTLY what I needed. It has exceeded my expectations for the price. I have had no issues with reliability, read/write speeds or connectivity.

Perfect companion to my Mac Studio
So I've been living with the Hagibis USB-C Hub for about a week. I bought it because my old MacPro died which had four hard drive slots. I replaced it with a Mac Studio with only one hard drive slot. That dog won't hunt. Plus my MacPro had four PCIe slots and lots of ports for accessories. Not so the Mac Studio. So here are my thoughts. First, when I hooked it up, I had installed my old SSD 2-1/2" drive with my photos/videos in it. When I ran my system profiler, it didn't show anything hooked up to my Thunderbolt ports. So I guess this thing just passes info without having a controller itself to identify things? IDK, but that was confusing. In fact, nothing in the System Profile report indicated this thing was connected to my Mac. However, the SSD drive did appear and allowed me to migrate my old Time Machine back-up on my network NAS, including pointing to this SSD drive for my assets. I also installed a 2TB NVMe M.2 drive in the other slot and both drives are working fine so far with no disconnects. Because of all the cautions by the manufacturer and reviewers, I connected the supplied Thunderbolt cable between the two units, and a second power supply to the other port on the Haggis. Two other Thunderbolt ports on my Studio connect to my two Dell monitors, and my keyboard is connected to one USB-A port and my Behringer audio mixer is connected to another. Everything seems to be working fine so far and all ports are active, although my system profiler still says "No device connected" on all my Thunderbolt ports.A couple of small complaints: The SDHC memory card slot is confusing. It doesn't show the orientation in which you should insert the card, and will physically accept one in either orientation, but it will only read it if it is upside down. This can be confusing because it is opposite of the orientation for the slot in the Mac Studio. The other thing to be aware of is that there is zero helpful documentation with this thing, and I never feel like having to watch Youtube videos just to understand a new purchase.Overall The Hagibis works fine. I do like how it stacks on my Studio for one small footprint rather than a tangle of boxes and cables on or under my desk. I wish there more rear ports in my combined set-up. With my fairly basic set up of the Mac Studio, this hub, keyboard, mouse, USB mixer, back-up drive (toaster with Thunderbolt to SATA cable) and dual monitors, the back of the Mac Studio is already full except for the HDMI (I couldn't get that to work with my monitor, but that is unrelated to the Hagibis) with all ports on the front of both units free so I can easily plug in a phone, iPad, etc. But I like keeping most cables on the back of my CPU, and I know how the need for accessories grows the longer you live with a new computer.Edit: Still working fine, but I initially forgot to hook up my scanner. So now all ports on the back of the Studio and the Hagibis are full, and the three front, USB3 ports on this hub are now full (scanner, thumb drive, and iPhone cable). Man, I wish everyone would include more ports. I'm tempted to get another one of these so I can net a few more ports.

Perfect companion to the Mac mini
Compliments the Mac mini with all the added USB I/O and disk expansion you could want. Also provision for secondary USB-C input to provide added power for peripherals plugged in makes for a nice design. I would recommend this as a standard add-on to anyone who owns or buys a Mac mini.
