I decided to add a 4x4 to my small collection and selected this one which cost £8. I doubt it's the best quality 4x4 cube on the market, but for me trying out a 4x4 for the first time it didn't make sense to spend a lot of money. It feels robust and turns easily as long as you have the layers lined up. My only criticism is that the blue and green colours don't stand out from each other if your lights are low (on my 3x3 cube the blue is royal blue rather than sky blue). For £8 I'm very pleased.

Easy to use cube. Not so easy to solve :)

Good value, fast, smooth action.

This is a good quality speed cube in the 4x4x4 size, all of the movements are smooth and the colours are brightly moulded into the cube so you don't have to worry about wearing down stickers over time.If you don't like how loose or stiff the cube is you can slightly pull out on the cube and slip a phillips head screwdriver into the middle of each side to adjust the tension.There are some mould blemishes on my cube but they aren’t too noticeable unless you look at them in bright light at an angle. The cube is also fairly quiet and isn't distracting to listen to while someone is solving it.It also comes with a sheet of instructions with some tiny text and images describing the correct method and repeatable algorithms to complete the cube. This will be much easier if you know how to do a typical 3x3x3 as the instructions essentially have you solve it like one and then use a specific algorithm to solve the top layer if specific non 3x3x3 situations happen.The instructions are perfectly adequate and will get you there if you don't mind learning that way but there are plenty of online resources out there to get you started with these puzzles. Youtube is a particularly good source of information about the methods involved and many of the videos do go into much more depth than the given instructions.If you are a serious speed cube enthusiast then maybe pick up some lube to keep this going smooth for years to come, it's a good cube at £8.99 and I'm not really hugely into cubes in general but I've had fun trying to figure this one out. My nephews will have a lot of fun trying to force this puzzle into submission when they get their mitts on it, but I'm not worried about it falling apart as it's robust enough to withstand the abuse, and they can't cheat by removing stickers on this one like I did as a kid.

Works exactly the same as the branded cubes of the same design. However this one is cheat proof as the colours are not stickers. Has a smooth action to it and my 6 year old nephew loved it.

This moves really well and feels like very good quality. Very nice to play with and even if you’re not solving it, it’s a lovely fiddle toy too!It has fairly good instructions but they can be a little confusing! I still haven’t quite worked it out and can only get so far using the instructions! I would say that the YouTube video is going to be your go to to solve this if you’re not already experience in 4x4 cubes.
