Spectracide Bug Stop Home Barrier, 1-Gallon (4 Pack)

UPDATED so it's been about a week since the stuff has been sprayed everywhere outside around our house & I gotta the sugar ant prob is non existent and there were several warmer days no less that normally result in seeing a few or a ton in any event I've seen none after applying this but that's assuming it's this that is working. We haven't anything other than this but I think it's safe to say it's working however I have seen the norm amt or # of stinky bug variety which I haven't had the opportunity to spray one directly in its face like sum1 said killed one lol but it doesn't seem to deter them I'm still getting the stinky dudes about 3 or so in a day per week then none but that day I get 3 trying to come in to get warm is one MAJOR BAD DAY so there's that but the ant variety definitely decreased Recd quickly, was sealed in a full size completely encased clear plastic bag or cover with air but ty for taking shipping products esp with that stuff in it seriously enough to think ahead should the shipment process go sideways on us cuz if they didn't take that extra precaution that wouldn't be a good thing having it leak pretty much anywhere other than some lawn hopefully lol so that is appreciated at my end but I'm sure the whole way here by everyone who came in contact with that & now know u did so. That ain't the kinda thing ya want anywhere but where u intended it. The product pumped out right away exactly as it said it would, good flow of juice outta nozzle, worked excellent I think anyway. I haven't seen the enemys anywhere today & we had a bit of a small tiny lil devil's the sugar ants starting to again try n take over the place. Well I waged a serious world size war against them last year & happy to report I did win it but knew it was only a matter of time b4 they tried to do it again cuz they r just that dedicated them lil suckers. And wouldn't ya know they started to coming in & trying here and then over there I'd see a few this week. Today was very warm compared to others this year. After my better half sprayed the whole bottle outdoors & around the property close to the house, I'm happy to say it appears to have done exactly what it claimed to have which was protect my home from more & keeping them outta the dang house in general. We spray around every place but pay close attn to the hoses that lead from outside to the inside and we also do the roof around all the skylights or window openings esp the ones directly underneath our big old oak tree that I noticed they live to drop right from on to the house roof and then come sneaking in they our bathroom vent. I have covered with netting or mesh and that works but usually ill still see some make it in thru that area but not the day it was hot I think that's yesterday lol anyway I'm getting too old to know when it was. Who cares my point is clear THIS STUFF APPEARS TO REALLY WORK WELL ON THE TINY SUGAR ANT VARIETY BUT ALSO IT DOES SEEM TO ALSO WORK GREAT ON DETERRING THE CRAZY IMCREASE OF PEASKY STINK BEATLES WE HAVE LITERALLY EVERYWHERE I say it did the job on the Beatles cuz I haven't seen one on that hotter day. The day B4 that, I had I think 4 maybe 5 of them suckers come in the house walk around on the ceiling requiring me to find the better half to handle it cuz I can't handle them when they decide it's time to take flight. It's a lot like a crain fly. I'm certain both got their wings to fly from the same idiot cuz they have no sense of direction whatsoever when they finally do catch air and always tend to come right for ur face if ur unlucky they'll run right into it full speed ahead too so I'm not a huge fan of that entire scenario which after my personal exterminator told me if I did smash them they'd reek alot like a skunk does, it's his job notine to handle them suckers which he claims he sets free away front he house as not to encourage reentey of these same pilots. So anyhoo that's that info I said probly TMI about hope it's helpful a little bit or a lot! This product works great for months and even in my grass for fleas and other bugs too… My pup hasn’t had fleas in years since I’ve used this and my household doesn’t have bugs (none that stay alive) This product when sprayed properly around perimeter of areas works great on contact and months later… BUT it does have a chemical smell and can cause some coughing or sneezing if inhaled (may cause other problems just as other insecticide does if inhaled or coming directly in contact with it…. But otherwise if used properly and sprayed every 3 -6 months around the area desired it should kill the whole year continuously… My bottle lasted me over a year and a half spraying the yard and around the perimeter of windows and doors (outside) and a regular spraying as a professional company would of the entire home’s perimeter and baseboards and cabinets and front door or anywhere you have bugs entering or problematic areas…. AGAIN…It really does work if you’re using it as directed… Hope this helps someone else… BUT please leave me a few because I’ve noticed it’s been selling out a lot lately…Thanks 😉

This works like magic! I sprayed my basement and kitchen because the ants would be out of control and went months without seeing them after. It is very effective for ants and spiders. The size was great for me because I only sprayed occasionally. It was simple to use, but be sure to spray in a well ventilated area, because it will irritate your eyes, nose and throat. It does seem safe to use otherwise. I’m not sure how long it takes to dry, but I never noticed it being wet for too long.

It seems to work since the number of bugs has definitely declined. I sprayed it on the outside perimeter and around the doors, windows, and any outside penetrations. It dries quickly. Its effectiveness period seems to be about 6 to 8 weeks. The trigger spray head works easily.

Well I know it kills termites on contact and damn near any other bug moving. Really great stuff. It does wear off after a train so in those areas re spray. I already this around the whole perimeter of inside and out of the house and shed. Under those also in certain places. It helps keep bugs away. Spiders can really care less but I'm not after them. The stuff is cheap n it works, need I say more. At 5$ I bought 2 and will last me the entire year if not more. This stuff goes a long way. Only downside is the sprayer is manual. But I use this as a refill cause it's cheaper for whatever reason. I think I had to use pliers to open. They don't want you opening this stuff I guess.

This product seems to work slightly worse than products like Ortho Max, et al. Further, it has two drawbacks. 1. The sprayer does not shoot in a straight stream when on the appropriate setting. The stream breaks apart much sooner than the Ortho Max sprayer, for example. So if you are attempting to hit some long shots (3' and farther), your spray will be unsuccessful. 2. Don't let the description fool you, this product smells acrid and foul. It illicits a sneeze from me every time I use it and causes my nose to burn terribly. A mask might aid you in this regard. You will also be able to smell it for days after you use it, unlike similar products that cost a bit more. So be carful spraying it into indoor living spaces. Otherwise, it seems to work fairly well outside for a short time. Though through multiple uses, I have seen ants (for example) return to trails alongside my home's foundation within weeks, so take its slogan: "effective up to 12 months" with a grain of salt.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like taking the life of any living creature but if it comes to a bug in my house, office, or apartment, those rules don’t apply. lol. It works really well on contact & it’s also long lasting (between a few-several days). Also a footnote: When spraying this chemical (or any chemical me that matter) it would be very wise to use a mask that prevents those harmful chemicals from coming into your airway. This chemical is very strong & if inhaled, it’ll take your breath away, cause you to cough, & activate your mucus membranes as a defense mechanism against the chemical. So be careful, but it DOES WORK! 5*’s! :)
