Amazingly rich tones in a nano footprint
Dumbler pedal: The Dumble tone is a thing of legend and rightly so, Robben Ford comes to mind. Dumble amps are almost out of reach for the average guitar player, but the Iset Dumbler pedal can get you close. This is a well made nano pedal that has 4 knobs: - Volume: Self Explanatory. - Tone: Bright on the left and darker on the right. - Voice: Now this is, in my opinion, what makes this pedal so special! The Dumble tone is known for having pronounced mids and upper mids, the Voice knob on this pedal, is very powerful. I slapped the pedal in front of my practice amp and tried out several variations. At about 2 o clock, it gave me some amazingly rich and resonant upper mids that I had never got out of my practice amp before. Cranking it up adds more brightness without ever being harsh. Full marks to ISet for getting this right. Below noon, you get a fat bassier tone, which is good to balance your tone if you're using a brighter sounding guitar. This knob is pretty powerful, so take your time and try out various positions. - Gain: Self Explanatory, the way I would describe the gain on this pedal is 'sweet sounding'. You can go from a clean boost to a reasonably hot overdrive. The pedal is very quiet when bypassed which is really good. It's very compact (fits on your palm) and won't take much space on your pedal board at all. This pedal is pretty versatile but is particularly great for a fat, rich bluesy tone and other low to mid gain styles. Cranked all the way up, it does some great crunchy rock tones as well. In summary, get this pedal for getting some really cool tones out of your rig. Delay Pedal: The ISet Delay pedal is another amazing piece of equipment for those seeking quality warm analog sounding delays and echos on a budget. The pedal has three knobs - Echo: This is akin to a mix knob, all the way down is your dry guitar and all the way up is where you're letting all of the pedal sound to come through. I found my preferred setting at around 2 o clock. - F. Back: This is the feedback knob to control how many repeats you get, just past 8 o clock was about one repeat. Cranked all the way up is a never ending delay loop, which can be fun to play with. Somewhere around noon is a good 3-4 repeats. - Time: This is the time between the repeats, Leave it at around 10 o clock for a cool slapback delay effect! Crank it up in tandem with the Echo, for a wet, satisfying lead tone. This pedal like the other ISet pedals is very quiet when bypassed which is awesome. The tones are warm and don't sound like digital delays, which is always a plus. The casing seems durable and the on off button is sturdy and satisfying to click. Great job, ISet!

A Great Boost That Doesn't Color Your Tone
Update 2: Just ordered a second Dumbler to use with another rig. I have two sons who play so we jam together with two amps downstairs and an upstairs amp for later in the evening to use without overriding the tv which makes mom unhappy. Downstairs I'm currently using the Dumbler with a Marshall Code and a Radial Tonebone Hot British on a clean channel. The Dumbler tightens things up really well without sounding shrill. Upstairs I havea Dumbler with a Bugera 333XL and an AMT P2, Black Hammer and Golden Brownie. I prefer the Dumbler to my tube screamer. It just sounds fuller. Bottom line, this great little clean boost pedal works well with tube and solid state amps. Update 1: It’s been about a month since I bought this pedal and I still love it. It hits the sweet spot of a full bodied boost that adds a bit of gain. Great to kick that high gain pedal just a bit to tighten up tone or add a little bite to a clean tone. It makes my tube screamer sound thin in comparison. Like most guitar players I have tried several boost, gain and distortion pedals. OCD and a Tube Screamer variant are primary but I thought Dumbler, why not give it a try. After playing with it a bit I have to say I really like this pedal. It has both tone and "voice" controls to help shape the sound to your taste. The pedal gives a fullness to clean channel settings with a bit of gain. Used with a Roland Cube I use the pedal to give a light gain on the clean channel. Sounds great with a song like Freewill. Give it a try I think you'll warm to it yourself. 🙂

hi-pass sound is nice
what i like about this is it tightens up your low end, it rolls off like a real guitar combo amp does or should do. The controls give you a lot of flexibility. I like that it feels analog. Its not for distortion - its more of a responsiveness and basic electric guitar foundation shape. the photo shows this is an all analog pedal.

Super Cheap and sounds good
I have no idea if it sounds like a dumble, and I probably never will. But... It sounds really nice. It's definitely an overdrive, not a fuzz. You can easily find a fairly smooth overdriven setting that cleans up with the guitar volume. I also like the two separate tone controls. I like it better than a BD2 or an 808. It sounds less spikey, but maybe I just lucked into a setting. It sounds like the yt video demos/reviews, so that's accurate, anyway If I were a serious gigging musician I would have it re-housed for durability. The tiny knobs look and feel super delicate. But then it wouldn't be so awesomely cheap. Overall, good sound for the money, just make sure not to break the knobs off.

Good, but quality may be a concern
The noise gate works well. It does what it is supposed to without coloring the guitar tone. Value wise, definitely worth what I paid for it. However, quality is an issue. I received the first unit, and the hard/soft clipping switch was broken. And not like a bad solder connection, but physically stuck in the lower position. Amazon did promptly ship a new one, which arrived fine and functioning. This is a defect that should have been caught through even the most basic quality control. So be aware of that. Fortunately Amazon does make exchanges easy on this item.

Any Colour You Like
The difference between higher-priced pedals and anything below $100 tends to be that cheaper pedals ‘color’ the sound of your guitar, whereas the more expensive ones seem to bring the sound of your instrument forward through the effect. iSet pedals are no exception to the low-cost ‘coloring,’ but I’m finding the sound of iSet pedals to be to uniquely useful as effects in their own right. This review covers the iSet ‘Atomic Heavy Metal’ distortion and flanger pedals: Distortion: Wide, almost infinite range of EQ options that are highly responsive to your guitar’s pickup switching combinations. I was looking for something with a lot of high end with sharp, pointy teeth, and this little gem delivers. A lot of how your distortion’s going to sound depends on other things like your amps - plus if you use compression, eq, preamp pedals, etc. I wanted a lo-fi punk rock distortion effect to compliment a DOD FX-55 and a Boss Metal Zone, and this is the one. Flanger: Great pedal. I use it all the time now. The art & hardware choices are perfect and it sounds amazing. The volume seemed to drop when the effect was on so I opened it up and found two little blue adjustment pots - one that adjusts the higher/lower range of the ‘range’ knob, and one that adjusts the sync of the ‘color knob, which brings up the volume a bit when you get it the most ‘centered’ on the sound. Mine was off a bit so it seemed too quiet when engaged but this tweak really livened it up.

Good Bass Booster Pedal
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is an inexpensive Booster Pedal that I found to be very effective on a Bass Guitar. I also found some response at the lower fret level. Highly recommend this Booster to any Bass Player.

Cut out the sound of my guitar
I am returning the pedal. There is noise on my chain when engaging the overdrive. And a really loud buzz when i use the ehx big muff. I got the pedal, placed at the end of the chain and hit the big muff. The noise was still therr and i dialed it down to wherr the buzz was gone. Problem was, so was the guitar. Then when i did turn it up to where i could hear the guitar, the trailing end of the sustain volume went up and down in a wave pattern. I could have gotten a dud, but this is the cheapest pedal i could find, so....... Anyways i am returning it.

Surprising quality and versatility at this pricepoint
Features I like: - Tone knob is a high pass filter, meaning at full it treble through without boosting, and as you roll it back from full it cuts your treble. Very very useful feature to tame high frequencies of the pedal itself as well as anything you feed it (like a fuzz, say) - Voice knob is a mid-boost with no cut, meaning at off position your mids are not affected, and boosted as your turn knob to full. The "voice" of the mid-freq that gets boosted is very musical, so you can go for no colouration or unique voicing here. More on that next. - With the tone turned up all the way, gain turned down and voice turned down all the way, pedal acts like a pretty transparent boost, except I haven't seen a boost with a high-pass filter as a feature which I think is great. - Sound quality of this pedal is suprisingly good! The breakup of the gain and tone shaping is very musical. No discernable increase to noise floor, pass-through does not colour signal. Parting comment: I haven't played the Vertex Dumble-style pedals that Rhett Shull uses (check him out on YouTube), but to my ear this is a comparable Dumble-style sound at a way way nicer pricepoint with virtually no drawbacks. This is a no brainer purchase - great job iSet. J J
