It works!
I eat half of the bar instead of having coffee before getting into the car, before my long commute to work (over 1.5hrs). It works wonders as there's no need for a toilet break which is nearly unavoidable after drinking coffee. 5 stars!

Not "crisp" rice, more like rock-hard rice candy
The media could not be loaded. I can't help but think that something went wrong with this batch that I tested, because surely these "rice crisp bites" can't be intended to be this rock-solid!? Under the dark chocolate coating, the rice was a rock-hard mass that was incredibly resistant to my teeth and even my knife. Biting and chewing these is a jaw exercise in itself - perhaps the sugar in the product melted at some point and crystallised the rice or something, but these bites made for a frustrating consumer experience. Sucking on them like hard candy did make them sort-of chewable eventually, and the flavour itself was actually excellent. The caffeine content and nutrition details would make this product commendable, but the texture really doesn't stack up to other, more cooperative caffeinated pick-me-up snacks.

Really tasty and gives a good boost but not a fan of the marketing
These energy bites come in a pack of 10, packed individually into a box. They are kosher, gluten free, vegan, and free from soy and GMOs. They are pretty small - only 14g per serving, but they do pack a punch and do wake you up. They also taste pretty good! They are a little bit bitter, like you'd expect from coffee/dark chocolate; but I like that. There is a story on the box about why the founder made these; basically, he was tired whilst driving and almost got into an accident. So he started looking for ways to keep himself awake at the wheel, and created these as a solution. This is a terrible story imo - I wouldn't condone driving AT ALL if you're that tired where falling asleep is a risk. I wouldn't risk betting on these to keep you awake behind a wheel and I think the story is a bit irresponsible for indirectly implying that they could. But they are great for staying awake to get some work done, or to give you an extra boost in the morning.

Efficient caffeine hit
My initial reaction to the first bite was negative, it is very bitter and strong. However, this is because I was thinking of it as a chocolate bar, once I thought of it as a replacement for espresso the taste was understandable. It is not a super yummy chocolate bar, you don't feel the need to have a second one, this is a caffeine/energy product, not a tasty product. The taste itself is a very strong coffee flavour mixed with dark chocolate, it's also very bitter. However, it is effective, there is A LOT of caffeine in it. 125mg per bite! This is equivalent to 2 cans of Redbull, 1 can of monster, about 2 cups of coffee, 2 espressos, or 5 cups of coffee. You can feel the caffeine in your head after you eat one.The texture is of hard/sticky rice crispies mixed with caramelI have to mention that the packaging of the product tells the story of when the creator of the product (Jesse) came up with the idea for it. This story is horrific. He explains that he was driving so tired that he fell asleep a the wheel and almost crashed. This is not something to promote, you should never drive tired. No one should be eating these to avoid falling asleep at the wheel. I would advise that Jesse removes this story completely. It is not something to be proud of.I'm not sure if I would recommend this to someone. It's not a great chocolate bar, but it does its job.I would personally recommend an energy drink or a caffeine tablet over this. But if you really want to eat your caffeine then this is a good option. At just under a £1 per bar it is a little cheaper than a redbull

Rather nice
This is a review for Wake UP Bites (1 Bite = 1.5 ESPRESSOS): Vegan, Gluten Free Energy Bite, 125mg Caffeine (Plant-Based), 55 Calories, Kosher Ingredients, Non GMO, Low Sugar, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Soy Free, Crisp RiceI ordered these as I have recently had a baby and I have been struggling to sleep as the night feeds are just so draining. I don't normally drink coffee and tea doesn't seem to be strong enough to keep me going. So, I thought I would try these instead. They seem to work ok. I do feel like I have more energy after eating one. They also taste alright, they have a crunchy texture when chewing them. There is 10 in the pack and I feel they are good value for money considering they are not regular chocolates.

Small chocolate snacks with a caffeine kick
These Wake Up Bites come neatly boxed, with ten individually wrapped bites inside. The ingredients and nutritional information are clearly marked on the packaging. The main selling point is the caffeine content, which is equivalent to 1.5 espressos per bite.Having eaten plenty of rice and chocolate snacks before, I was expecting these bites to be softer and chewier than they are, but they are surprisingly tough and dense. This isn't a bad thing if your teeth are in good condition but it takes a bit of an effort for me to chew them. I like the thick texture however, it makes them feel more substantial. As far as the taste goes, they taste pretty good, to the extent that after eating one I am tempted to eat another. There's a definite dark chocolate flavour with a little bit of a bitter aftertaste. At just under £9 for 10 bites these aren't the best value as general snacks but overall I am happy with them - they do taste good and are an interesting alternative to coffee.

Not for me
This product is great in theory and probably wonderful for other people! But for me these bites were way too hard, it hurt my jaw to start chewing them! And they are just a little bit too big to comfortably put in your mouth whole, while being to difficult to hit in half! You can see my dilemma! As to the taste, my first impression was not bad, you mostly taste the chocolate and a little coffee flavour. But the aftertaste is kind of gross, and it’s hard to get rid of so for me it just wasn’t worth it! It’s a shame because these seem like the perfect thing to have in your bag!
