We bought this to address the issue of a dryer vent to outside that didn't line up with the dryer It was prefect for our needs It's reasonably priced It's well made It has adjustable length It can be installed vertically or horizontally It is easy to install It require less space then a dryer vent hose (It looks neater behind the dryer) It secures to the dryer with a dryer vent clamp It seated snugly in the outside vent hole There is no issue with leaking The only issue is once installed if you have to move the dryer you'll need to reinstall, but it's easy so no big deal I would recommend this product to family and freinds

Edit: as others have mentioned, the two wedge pieces inside are not secured in place. One ended up dislodging about a month after placement, blocking the vent. Our dryer alerted us with an error. We removed the wedge pieces and it seems to be working fine now. Originally review: This works and helped us get our dryer closer to the wall. So in that area it is a success. However, it is extremely flimsy and the seams leak air terribly. We used foil tape to line all the edges before installation but it wasn’t enough! We’ve had to go back multiple times and add more tape because the hot air leaks and makes our laundry room hot. I love the idea and function of this device, I just wish the execution was a little better.

Worked great

I bought this OEM part expecting better quality, but it arrived in absolutely terrible condition. The circular connector was smashed flat with sharp creases ("dead folds") that are impossible to reshape, even with pliers. To make matters worse, the seams on the metal body were split open, which would definitely cause air leaks. The material feels extremely thin and fragile. It looks like it was destroyed before it was even put in the shipping box. Now I have to deal with a return and wait for a replacement while my dryer is out of service. Very disappointed.

Hard to complain for the price, especially compared to other periscopes but the aluminum on this could not be thinner. Be careful when pushing your dryer back into place because you can completely smash and deform this Periscope. Also, the connectors can completely deform when tightening the duct clamps so be sure not to make them too tight.

This is a fantastic product if your looking to get your dryer as close to the wall as possible. We were able to gain an additional 3.0" (3in. Closer to the wall). If you need to modify the offset, you will need tin snips and aluminum foil tape. Also if you have a laser level, use it. Align the center line of the dryer output to the C/L of the offset. This will establish coaxial alignment so your vent doesn't tweek when pushed back. Use a sharpie marker and mark on the sheet metal where to cut. Remove, cut and seal with tape. Reinstall, use 6.0" of flex vent for union. Install flex vent to dryer with hose clap loose on union side. Push dryer to wall, slip vent onto offset adapter and foil tape to ensure no leaks. Tighten clamps. And done!

Works perfectly. Dont let installers tell you it doesn’t work. Bought dryer from Lowe’s and installers swore it wouldn’t work. First, take it out of the package. Move it up and down and in and out. My vent was on the floor and I needed to get it to the dryer which was on a platform 11” up and three inches over. First, don’t put it at a right angle to the floor. Make sure it can swivel on its own access before installers arrive. I had to cut the bottom off with metal shears but I think you are supposed to - or because my vent was next to the floor. Then make sure it can swivel to the vent area. I got an extra 4”connector just in case I needed to get a bit farther away. So buy one just in case and return it if you don’t need it. Get aluminum tape for ducts. NOT duck tape. Use that to seal the vents between the dryer and the slim vent. You shouldn’t need a hose. They are cheap and flimsy and lint gets caught. When it was installed I got the dryer within 6or less inches of the wall and on a platform I built. I am not mechanical and Havent done this becore. I had to play around with it to figure out how it works. It does go to zero inches. It doesn’t look it when you get it which is why you need to take it out of the plastic wrap. Evidently it is not used often when you have installers because 4 lowes installers had no idea what it was or how to use it. I am female and basically it was a case of “she is a crazy lady”. Get ine of these slim vents. You won’t have to have your dryer sticking out way far from your wall

Worked well and easy to install

This unit is a great idea but poor quality both ducts were loose,clamps were to big and neither ducts would fit my dryer or the exhaust vent. As alot of others have said ,it needs to be taped and trimmed to size but for me this was garbage.

I installed this on our new LG dryer in a tight-space laundry room where the dryer door opens toward a flight of stairs, so there's very little room to maneuver. The periscope height is adjustable but I had to cut the length to size with metal snips. I reinforced all the periscope vent's seams and cut edges with foil tape (not included) before attaching with the clamp to the dryer. It's not easy to screw the second clamp on the wall outlet in a tight space where you can't see. But it turned out fine, the installation passed the dryer's initial "vent test" and everything's working great. Only issue--the periscope is shipped in a flimsy box without any bubble wrap or styrofoam protection. Everything I've purchased before from Amazon has had better packaging. It arrived with a bit of a dent, but not enough to effect air flow or I would have returned it.
