Giving this lock another try after Yale contacted me.....
Positively Yale contacted me to understand the issues I'd had and get my honest feedback on the product. So 10/10 for engaging with your customers and wanting to improve the product. Whilst the hardware is well made, the application needs further attention, hence the 3 stars. Both times I've had this product the installation was straight forward. Everything I needed for the door hardware was in the box. They say you only need one screwdriver to install this, but I found that I really needed a small and larger posi-drive screwdriver. I also used a spirit level to confirm the handles were on straight. When you set up the lock one of the first things it asks you to do is push the door lever down and then after a beep lift it up. This tests the locking mechanism and lets the lock know whether it's been fitted on a left or right hand side of the door. On my initial attempt the mechanism was jamming. When I installed the replacement lock barrel it was catching. My advice is to ensure the barrel turns and doesn't catch before screwing in the lock barrel holding screw. DO NOT turn it to much, just a little to ensure that it's not catching. After this set up I got a flashing blue LED on the front panel which I couldn't get rid of, and it stopped me from programming the door. I took the lock off and disconnected the cable and then re-connected it and re-assembled it. This started working fine, so I'm assuming that I may not have connected the cable correctly the first time. However, there's no comment made about what to do if the blue LED just stays flashing. It took me around 30 minutes to install the hardware. I now have several key tags set up and registered to the lock via the iPhone application which uses Bluetooth to communicate with the lock. I have tried the "turn to unlock" functionality, but I much prefer to use the tags, to keep the battery life for as much as possible.Bluetooth is enabled by pressing the front cover of the lock which then illuminates the blue LED telling you that the Bluetooth has been turned on. You then need to twist your phone ensuring that the application is running in background. This takes time, whereas in comparison the tags / cards are read as soon as they're presented and unlock the door. The application is the weakest link currently. On a couple of occasions I've had to terminate the app and re-launch it to get it to work.I think this lock has a great potential future once the application issues have been corrected. I will update the review again when I've been able to test out a newer release of the application.

Three month review
Bought this as I got fed up with my wife leaving her keys on the outside of the door lock seemingly out of compassion for our local burglars struggling in these difficult times.Installation was very easy and although the lock does look quite big, its not overwhelming. The lock has solved all the issues with the door being left insecure and the whole family has got into the habit of locking it after leaving/entering the house.Wife also used to lose her keys on a regular basis, so having a credit card sized card to keep with her mobile (which she loses less regularly) has proven to be useful. Although we have both downloaded the app to unlock the door from our phones using bluetooth (or however it works), we have found this to be a bit temperamental. So I use the fob to access the lock which I keep with my car keys and it is still going strong after being in my pocket with the keys for the last three months with no signs of wear.Another bonus is the kids can open the door from the inside in the event of an emergency without having to hunt for the keys as it is essentially a thumb lock on the inside. If the kids were younger I would have concerns about them allowing themselves out the house unsupervised - something to consider for younger households.I haven't connected mine to the yale alarm system as this seems to be putting all my eggs into one basket. Happy for it to be standalone. After I couldn't switch off my house alarm when the internet went down, I have fallen out of love with the Yale smart alarm system at the moment. After three months of use the 9v battery is now running low and needs replacing. Hoping this is because it was in storage a while and had lots of use from family getting use to it. If I have to replace the battery every three months, this will be a big negative. All in all, very pleased with it and appears to be wearing well and to be a good, secure system and user friendly.Would recommend.

Very very happy with this product
I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews, I was very cautious buying this and researched the product thoroughly before making my decision however the negative reviews did nearly sway my judgement!I'm pleased to announce I've had this lock for 2 weeks now and it has worked perfectly with all keys, fobs and Bluetooth devices.Pros - quick and simple to install, just please read the instructions to the letter, I had to pull off the lock once as I hadn't aligned correctly which was my own fault for rushing.Very heavy, feels secure as well as looks it.Works well with all keys provided, and asigning keys via the app is simple.Looks beautiful!Smart locks are a future technology so insurance companies will no doubt look to these for lower house insurance premiums soon.Cons - the app doesn't seem to like Android users for some reason, Apple works just fine however a lengthy delay in anyone using the android version of the app on my door. The connector wire looks and feels flimsy so do take great care feeding it through the door and looping it round when assembling the handle flush against the door.In conclusion I am so glad I bought this product, its elegant and sturdy and worth every penny so far. additional keys to purchase off Amazon are cheap and it has wowed everyone I know. Very happy with this product. For fitting there is a handy step by step guide on YouTube if you're after a more visual tutorial than the attached instructions.

Easy to fit and set up,
After reading many reviews on the yale smart lock I decided to take the leap, many of the reviews claiming how hard it was to fit etc.Well it was super easy even when I got to the last part about to add the batteries realising I had a spare bit that should have been fitted at the beginning, so had to disassemble it all and put back together still done and dusted in 45mins. The motor has no issues locking or unlocking it does it with ease.I added 2 cards 2 tags and one phone tag which all appeared to add easily when i went to test 1 of tags didn't work and I couldn't remove it, I will come back to that at a later date as i don't actually need it.I wanted a smart lock to integrate in to my smart home so the zwave module was a must, it paired first time with Hubitat using S2 security. So now I don't need to use any tags as it now auto unlocks.Over all I'm happy it's a little noisy but it was never going to be silent, the beeps to confirm locking and unlocking I disabled straight away as they are a proper wind up but that was simple todo. The yale app is basic at best but i never plan to use so not really an issue for me, but it seems to work OK just not as polished as you would want in 2022.
