This is a very sturdy box which is very roomy. I purchased the dark grey one which looks very smart. Its been in use for a few months for rattan furniture cushions which it swallows up easily. The location of our box is partially undercover so I cannot make any real comment regarding rain resistance but the lid in a one-piece metal sheet with a wide rim that overhangs all the sides which is a good design.As previously stated it is a mission to build - takes a few hours – it is an enormous 'Mechano' set with lots of nuts and bolts and not the clearest instructions. If you struggle with flat-pack furniture then this may not be the best option! I discovered that the protective plastic film comes off easily (in one piece rather than lots of annoying strips) if you can lay the panels in the sun for a few minutes to heat up the sheet which softens the glue.I used an electric screwdriver with an 8mm nut driver on the lowest torque setting which saves a lot of time with the dozens of nuts and bolts that are provided. A flexible shaft hand held 'screwdriver' (available from amazon of course) used with the 8mm nut driver was also useful for tighter access in a few corners to save knuckles. I then hand tightened all nuts with a 8mm ring spanner.Do make sure you have the floor panel of the box in the correct way around - I discovered a little too late that you can build most of the box with the floor panel in the wrong way around, so I had to undo all the floor bolts to correct the error - it’s not especially clear on the instructions - you have to count the screw holes and the front and back of the floor panel to be sure which is front and back. I managed to build the box solo apart from fitting the lid which I found impossible to align to the hinge bolts without help.The lid piston works well. I shortened the nylon limiter rope so the lid cannot go any further back than just short of vertical to reduce excessive flexing forces on the box and hinges. Overall the complexity of build is well worth the result of a solid secure box.

Ok when assembled but beware, you need good tools / socket set etc . Two people for crucial bits .Had to drill hole for a bolt in one place where missing , I am dentist and still found it fiddly with positioning of nuts. Sharp metal ,strength and care are needed. . I can see some daylight at corners , will seal with gun. Should be long lived after that.

Really pleased with this product. It arrived well packaged and was easy enough to assemble with pre-drilled holes. It's a two person job (took two of us a few hours from start to finish). The end result looks great and seems solid enough. Have high hopes it will be a better storage unit than the wooden storage box I bought it to replace.

Takes two people hours to assemble. Two parts are missing from the hinge. Company doesn’t send replacement parts so left with a partially constructed box with a lid that isnt attached. Takes two to remove lid. Had replacement but parts still missing. Amazon gets this prepacked. Amazon cannot contact manufacturer.

Was ok to assemble if you follow the instructions. The pistons supplied didn’t work and although they were eventually replaced, communication with the company was less than satisfactory.We siliconed around the internal joints once erected, just to be sure it wouldn’t leak, but it has been great. Even in Scottish downpours it is completely waterproof. We have removed the cushions for the winter and put an old golf bag in to see how I performs over winter. It is a nice, modern box and comfortably holds the cushions from 2 sets of garden lounge furniture. Very pleased so far.

Took me ages to assemble over a couple of cold winter days. Delivery was rediculous, they kept loosing the product but eventually i got it and its a fantastic storage box. Just lots of fiddly screws. Difficult for one person to put together but eventually managed it
