Fly Guy Presents: Sharks (Scholastic Reader, Level 2)

Great book! My son likes it but doesn’t love it because he says it’s a “facts” book. Informative? Yes! But not great for bed time stories.

Super Noah loves to read & Fly Guy is one of his absolute favorite characters.We discovered the Fly Guy series by Tedd Arnold while visiting our local library last year. Super Noah, who was just starting 1st grade, was able to read these books all on his own. Listening to him read, laughing hysterically, it was music to my ears.And now, a year later, we own every book in the series & Super Noah still loves Fly Guy.If you are not familiar with the Fly Guy series, it's a super sweet story about a boy named Buzz, Buzz is trying to find himself a new pet. Once Buzz & Fly Guy meet, so begins a beautiful relationship full of adventure & giggles.A fly as a pet you ask? It's a ok book but she didn't like it like the other one she has

I just have to say that for the 3 star reviews on here - those people seem to not understand what they were buying. This book is presented as a nonfiction text, with "straightforward facts" about sharks, photographs, and is published by Scholastic REFERENCE. It was never intended to be a "usual Fly Guy Book". It is part of a new series supposed to help bridge kids from fiction to nonfiction texts by using a familiar fictional character to "host" the facts.I think that this series will be excellent for children who love Fly Guy to expand their interests into informational books which are important to read. After all, informational texts are what kids need to be able to comprehend more and more the older they get. (How many fiction books were required reading in college?) This book does exactly what it is intended to do - entices children to read nonfiction by putting a popular fictional character on the cover.

Looks like a pamphlet to me, lol! But the boy I got them for loved them. I think 2.99 is a better price for them.

I began reading the Fly Guy series to my boys. After they were done with the books I took them to school to share with my students who love them as much as my family did. Thanks to book fairs I've collected the whole series. I was happy when Fly Guy introduced an informational book. They're great starting points for my students who have difficulty with longer text or identifying important facts. These books are great and continue to be the most borrowed books in my library. Sharks is a welcome addition that may soon need replacing because so many have read it since I brought it to school in May!We're looking forward to the next installments.

Our 5 and 9 year old boys really enjoy reading the Fly Guy book collection. They learn so much from these exciting books, we as adults learn a lot from it too.

Very good book for a second grade reader

A mi hijo le encanta,porque le encantan los tiburones y fly guy.En cada página hay un par de fotos y un par de frases. Yo lo uso con mi hijo (6 años) para practicar inglés.

My youngest daughter (6) loves these books! So do I!! They are a joy to read with the kids. Also good to develop those reading skills that are so important at a young age. I don't find the informational ones hold her attention as much as the story line Fly Guy books. Normally our kids love to watch informational shows and read informational books but these ones didn't really hit the mark. Still great books and the series is amazing!

Amei o livro, comprei para me retomar meus estudos de inglês, a linguagem super fácil, apresenta a pronúncia de algumas palavras para facilitar o aprendizado, sem contar que é super interessante saber mais a fundo sobre a vida dos tubarões. Simplesmente amei. 🤗

Excelente! Além vocabulário traz muitas informações sobre tubarões. As crianças adoraram!

Who doesn't love sharks? This is a fun and informational story from the FlyGuy series that my son enjoyed, and your children will be sure to as well.
