It's all right but the ad copy is regressive
This product functions decently as a beard oil. The included comb is neat too. But There are two main things I don't like about it. One is the lack of dropper or some means of making the oil come out more slowly. This absence leads to drippy oil bottles after every use, which is a waste of product. But the main thing I don't like about it is the obnoxious ad copy on the bottle's label. On one side, it says "Chicks love cavemen (and some dudes love 'em too)." On the other side, it says "Test for allergen first...even though you're not a girly man."My issue is this: either be "woke" and accepting of homosexuality or effeminateness in order to sell your product, or be obnoxiously prejudiced against it to appeal to male insecurity to sell your product. You can't have it both ways. Obviously, I would prefer the former, even if it is merely postural.I bought the product because the price was right for trying out beard oil to see if it was for me, and for the cool wooden comb. It's fine to use "cavemen" to sell products to men, to make them seem "manly" and "animalistic", which is playing on insecurity in its own way, but do you have to also actually equate allergies with being a "girly man"? (BTW, I'm not allergic). Not to mention the "chicks dig cavemen" line altogether. I mean, what does that even mean? And by the way, I'm willing to bet that in the caveman days, before modern morality or shame existed, dudes just went around getting it on with whoever or whatever they felt like, regardless of gender. So is that "manly"? "masculine"? Or is it "girly"?I feel we should be past this as a society. I know we're not, not by a long shot, but we should be. Christ.
