The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural is an awesome product; a toy for young and old alike. The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural costs less than comparable products, have the right weight and feel for checkers, and above all, they stack neatly with a wooden ridge. The wooden checkers are made of quality material (cherry wood, perhaps?) that emit a nice smell when first opened from the well-packaged cloth bag that the checkers arrive in. Perhaps I was fortunate, but the smell of the wooden checkers was a nice indication that the people who packaged the checkers prior to shipping added a nice touch to their product, reminiscent of fresh cherry blossoms. Family played a game of checkers for the first time together in over 40 years last week. The game was both challenging and evoked memories of strategy games we played as kids. This is one game we actually enjoyed together, contrasted with the usual competitive spirit fostered with other games. The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural game was fun, helped foster critical thinking by helping the players foresee what circumstances would occur by their present actions, is durable, and was given a 5✩ rating overall because eventually when we grow older, the Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural will travel with us to a retirement home where we can sharpen our older minds with a both fun and challenging, simple and humble game of checkers.

I'm not sure why it's so hard to find 2 inch checker pieces, but it is. I'm really glad i found these. They are very lightweight but of good quality, and the colors match my chess board nearly perfectly. I do really wish that the bottoms had a rubber piece or something. They slide around very easy (which for some, might be seen as a plus) and are very loud when picking them up and jumping to other squares. Other than that, they are great.

The pieces are nice, though closer to 1 3/8 inches than 1.5 inches as advertised. But the tops of the dark colored pieces are very poorly finished -- some are darker than others, while some have streaks of a lighter color showing through. I am disappointed, and am considering returning them. If I do, I will probably ask for another set and hope for a better batch. I cannot believe that they are all like this. <<Edit>> Independently of my initial 2-star review, the seller (Family Board Games) reached out to me asking if I was satisfied with my purchase. When I told them about the defective dark pieces, they willingly agreed to send me a complete set of 12 dark pieces. The finish is of much better quality, and the pieces match each other well. I have therefore changed my review to 4 stars. One star off because the pieces are not quite as large as advertised.

Nice set of checkers, good price

Wooden pieces are vintage looking. Just what I wanted. Met expectations.

I bought these to go with a wooden chess set and they are great. They have a great almost flawless if not so design in the center and the whole piece is smooth and coated with some type of wood sealant or what ever you call the junk, but it still looks fairly natural without being too shiny and still keeping the general color of wood. Great over all. Also comes with a pretty good pouch that could hold about 2-4 more sets of these pieces. I would probably order two the next time I order and keep all in one bag and maybe use the other bag for chess pieces to go along with the checkers. The only real issue seems to be that when stacking the checkers pieces the indent on the bottom on many occasions is not deep enough to hook onto the top or sit without falling off the other when pushed. Some do but not all pieces. This can be addressed by switching the two pieces you are trying to stack with one another because one is probably deeper than the other. It is just far too subtle to be useful. I like the pieces though so it does not bother me, but I wish this part was better, but it is not so bad as to ruin the product by no means.

Better than expected! These wooden checkers are smooth, durable, & the perfect weight. The underside has a groove so they stack together without slipping. These are an excellent value for the price. I bought the 1.5” size and they are perfect for our wooden board. I highly recommend.

Fits the chess board I made perfectly. The pieces have a one inch diameter bass.
