Real growth is possible!
I enjoyed this book more than most Camino books because he was honest about all of his weaknesses and challenges and you were able to see true growth and change. I have walked the Camino in 2018 and I resonated with most everything he said. I did not get blisters and I did not experience pain as I walked at my own pace, was not plagued by competition with others as I was alone but so many of his thoughts and pondering were mine, as well. (I did take an occasional bus when the way was too industrial) He is funny and unabashedly honest and his experience rings true and recognizable. He really changes and he documents this admirably. Great read, whether walking The Camino or not.
For some unknown reason, I have a compelling desire to walk the Camino. Bill's forthright telling of his Pilgrimage helped me to realize that I don't actually need to know that reason and that at some point all will be revealed.I would consider this a must-read for anybody considering the Camino or any other sort of Pilgrimage. Bill exposes both the beauty and hardship, as well as the almost-certain deep dive into one's own psyche, these sorts of journeys open us up to.Written with deep honesty, a bit of suspense and speckled with his wry sense of humor, The Way, My Way turns out to be quite the page turner.

Surprisingly thought provoking
I walked the Camino Francés 2 years ago, on my own, from St. Jean Pied de Port. I can relate to much of Bill’s pilgrimage. I just had a map when I started and stayed where I found myself. Later I used a guide book and found out much more about the way as I walked. My journey changed my life. COVID permitting, I will walk another Camino soon. Thanks Bill for helping me revisit a very special time and place.

Brilliant!
As an avid hiker this book called to me, and now walking the Camino is on my list. In this very difficult to put down book, I loved how he wove humour and vulnerability throughout, and his descriptions of the landscape took me there, which is such a treat in lockdown. I appreciated his openess about his spiritual journey and felt it really resonated with me, and made me want to walk the Camino all the more! Thank you Bill Bennett for this wonderful book.

Bill's Way is good way to experience the Camino de Santiago.
Bill Bennett does many things well. He's been a television reporter, a successful film-maker, and now a compelling storyteller. IN essence, they're all the same thing, really. Storytelling is at the heart of all Bill's work, and here he does it very well indeed ... relating his own journey as a Peregrino along the ancient pilgrim route (Camino) known as the Way of St James. Bill and I have shared a few experiences in our lives. We both worked on a top-rating national TV show, and we've both walked the Camino. So I know from experience that Bill's Way is a good way to discover a story. His book is an enjoyable read, unfolding smoothly, in the style of a Bill Bryson travelogue (and just as interesting). I've read many accounts of the Camino, from travel guides to traveller's tales. Bill Bennett's Camino is perhaps the most readable of them all. If you've just dreamed of walking the Camino, or even if you've already done it, you'll enjoy Bill's book, and you'll learn from it. You'll learn the value of persistence, and the beauty to be encountered along The Way, Bill's Way. It's a good way to go.

A wonderful reminder of my own pilgrimage
I read this book four years after completing my own pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. His words strongly reminded me of my own journey, even though it was completely different from his own. This phenomenon - the fact that people headed for the same place by the same path can have completely different experiences - is one of the most enlightening ideas that a pilgrim encounters on his way to Santiago. Of course, he makes reference to noticing this fact in his book, which marks him as a true pilgrim in my eyes.As for the book itself, it was a pleasure to read - easy to pick up, easy to read, hard to put down. It was funny, it was poignant, it wasn't too long, and it helped me recall memories I thought I had lost. The author does include an epilogue with the lessons he had learned from his experience, but they are not the real focus of the story, at least for me.

Enjoyable, funny and inspirational read
Really enjoyed this book couldn’t stop reading it and finished within 2 days. The author is funny in the way only an Aussie can be and extremely honest. An inspirational and honest biography of walking the Camino. It’s helped me become even more determined to complete it for my 40th birthday! As an aussie i was completely enthralled and entertained. Can’t wait for the movie!

A funny Camino
Hilarious. I know that is not a word you may expect when you pick up 'yet another camino book' but this is not just 'another camino book'. It is written from a very refreshing point of view that holds your attention to the last page and then disappoints because there is no more. Every book about the camino at some point refers to the blisters, the tendonitus, the blown knees and the sore backs but up to now I never heard of anyone having a conversation with their 'triumverate of pain'. Bill Bennett stayed in many of the same places I did, met similar people and experienced the same ups and downs. Just wish I could have written my book half as well. If you must read one book on the camino, this is the one

Fastinating read
This book is a great read whether you are planning to walk the Camino or whether you have already walked it. Having walked the Camino in 2017 I fully understand the physical and see notional state the author was in. I could picture in my mind many of the p ok aces described with writing. Thank youA wonderful read

Honest and Inspirational
This author writes like no other I have read who's completed this epic walk. He is prepared to show us the inner turmoil and the highs lows of almost every step he took. I loved the style of the conversations he had with himself and also the epilogue is so inspiring it made me think hard about the journey I'm on, could I be so clear and honest about what I've learnt from each days experience. Everyone who starts this book will I'm sure like me not want to put it down. Altogether a great read with an amusing, sensitive, uplifting style.

Absolutely loved this story!
I loved this story by Bill Bennett, it was easy to read. I would love to do the Camino one day, but somehow don't think I could walk 800km with a 10kg bag on my back. I admire Bill Bennett for doing the Camino walk in one month despite being in pain with his blistered feet and wonky knee. He met all sorts of interesting people along the way. The book is full of good humour and I laughed at the descriptions of the Italian Pilgrims in their designer gear stepping of a luxurious coach for photographs and only to take off again! The only thing I can say now is that I will miss this book, I enjoyed my own little Camino trip each night, even though it was only through a book! Well done Bill Bennett, I do hope this won't be your only adventure and we shall see another book soon!
