Heavy
It's heavy. Picture quality is amazing. Corners at 24mm are a bit stretched. Some vinyeting. reversable lens hood button is a pain in the ass.

Sigma Lens for Leica L mount
A great lens that is much more affordable than a Leica lens, plus super quality and build as with all the Sigma lenses I've bought.

Versatile, small, light and great quality.
I tend to shoot with my 24mm, 35mm or 85mm primes. Over time I have noticed (because I can't be bothered to change lenses) I left my camera in my bag more often than not. Also, I don't like to carry too much with me, so I could never decide what to take. To solve this very first world problem, I bought this lens. Firstly, I really like the size...it’s very small and light (about the same size as my Sony 24mm 1.4) which was a big consideration. I had considered the Sigma 24-70mm, but found that too front heavy. The other obvious choice would have been the Tamron 28-75mm. However, this was more expensive and from the reviews I have seen, didn't really warrant the additional expense and weight. Image quality is good. I have tested it against my primes and while it doesn't match those (and I'm sure it isn't as good as Sony's 24-70mm GM), I find the quality to be more than good enough for real world shooting. Without pixel peeping, it's very hard to see any real negatives. The lens does get softer at 70mm, but again, unless you are comparing against a prime or pixel peeping, you won't notice any difference in the real world. Build quality is also good. It's made of high-quality plastics and feels solid in the hand as most Sigma lenses do these days. I really like how Sigma have managed to keep this lens so light without jeopardising the build quality (unlike a company like Samyang, where they feel very cheap). Overall, I’m very pleased with the purchase and it hasn't left my camera since I bought it.

Not a compromised lens
Before I received it I was worried that it would not perform to the standard I require due to its compact size. An initial photo shoot tells me it's capable of producing absolutely beautiful images. I compared it at 50mm to my Sony 50mm 2.5g prime, and it's marginally behind in sharpness, and the in-camera correction is a bit more dramatic telling me there is more distortion, but the image quality is very close. It will be hard to justify swapping the prime onto my camera just on the basis of image quality... although I love the prime for being ultra-compact. The form factor is the key benefit to the 28-70, but I'm glad to report that it's still a lens capable of professional results. No need to worry. A great mid-range zoom lens. This and a couple of primes will do me just nicely!

Great Everyday Lens with a Small Drawback
I recently bought the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 and I am really impressed with its performance. What I Love: • The zoom and focus rings feel buttery smooth and very premium. • Image quality is excellent – sharp and crisp across most of the zoom range. • The build is lightweight yet solid, which makes it perfect for carrying around all day. • Autofocus is quick and quiet, perfect for both photography and video. • Price is very competitive compared to other f/2.8 lenses, giving you a lot of value for the money. One Drawback: Because this is a more affordable lens, you do notice some distortion – especially when shooting architecture, landscapes, or portraits with visible straight lines in the background. For example, if you photograph a feature wall with square frames, you may need to correct the image in post to make the squares look straight. It slightly compresses the center and stretches the edges, so lens correction is recommended.

Disappointed
Tried on the Sony a7c ii and found both the so autofocus and the quality uninspiring and lacking. I also have the APSC equivalent of the Sigma 18-50 on the Sony a6700 and that performs much better and the autofocus is snappy and quality consistent. Prefer this combination. If you have the a7c or any full frame Sony, it is worth spending a bit more for the super Sigma 24-70mm
