Are You Anemic? Take Iron!
After a few years of lab tests indicating anemia, once again, a doctor mentioned to my husband that he was anemic, and needed iron. I offered to feed him liver several times a week, and he likes liver, but wouldn't like to live on it. So I told the doctor, I would get him on a pre-natal iron supplement to see if that would help.He hasn't had any recent labs done, so I do not know the extent of help this iron supplement is providing, but I am sure that he is doing much better.The bottom line is that if your labs show that you are slightly anemic, you can probably just start eating iron rich foods. If the anemia is more serious, you likely should be taking an iron supplement.
