This is an excellent mattress protector. I recently purchased a new bed from Mattress Firm and they tried selling me a protector for my Serta that was well over $100. I’m glad I trusted my gut instinct and didn’t purchase it as it was a huge rip off. This protector does just what it says is does. I did read a few reviews that mentioned that their bed didn’t feel any cooler, but I wanted to note that it only really works for mattresses that are made cool. The mattress that I purchased has a special cooling effect, and this protector is made to where you can feel the cooling through the protector. It’s not necessarily a cooling protector that will work on any bed. So I just thought I’d add that in this review so people aren’t misled. Overall 10/10 recommend!

This mattress cover effectively protects my mattress from spills & “accidents”. The size/fit is perfect. It called a cooling mattress cover and it does just that… during warm nights, from the moment I get into bed, I can feel the difference from not having this cover. I’m sleeping more soundly since I’m not tossing and turning seeking out the “cool spot”. It has held up very well in the wash. I plan on getting one for the other bed in my home.

I bought this because I was desperately looking for a solution to my body's natural heat generation. Ignoring that aspect of it for now, is this a good mattress protector? Absolutely. It does a fantastic job of keeping moisture from actually getting to the mattress itself, it fits my Purple mattress with ease and doesn't move around very much. Also I don't find it to be loud at all as some users said, I don't intend to discount the experiences of others but I read some reviews of people saying that they couldn't roll around with this protector making loud ripping/tearing noises underneath them, which I think is insane. Even if you sleep directly on it, it is barely loud, it's made of a somewhat plastic-y material that DOES make some ruffling noise but it's hardly noticeable. I really have no idea what those people were talking about, their reviews almost scared me off purchasing this thing but my partner and I did not have that problem at all. Anyway, the reason why I give it four stars is because despite being a fantastic mattress protector, it only does a negligible job of keeping us cool at night. You can feel a bit of cooling if you sleep directly on it, but you're not supposed to sleep directly on these things, first of all because the plastic-y material isn't very comfortable to lay on, and second of all because then it gets dirty much faster which defeats the purpose. So we have a normal fitted sheet on top of this (one that also advertises itself to be good at cooling), and when used like that (the intended way to use a mattress protector), I feel roughly 5-10% cooler than when I use the fitted sheet alone. My cat seems to notice a larger difference though! On hotter nights he usually sleeps on the floor, but ever since we bought this thing he will jump right on the bed as soon as he warms up (which he didn't used to do before). But yeah, it's still a great item, but unfortunately it isn't good at the main thing I bought it for. Still worth purchasing and it isn't completely ineffective, just know what you're getting into in advance and maybe don't buy it if you're specifically getting it for the cooling effect.

At first, I didn’t think this was going to be cooling at all, but it actually did feel cool. It was a great mattress protector and it was very well-made.

LOVE SERTA BRAND! This is my 3rd purchase of this mattress cover because I keep upgrading my bed and I won't ever go without it.

I recently bought a memory foam mattress and the first week was sweltering as that material holds in heat. Gave this a shot and I am definately cooler, not sweating as much and am more comfortable. I was skeptical when I recieved it as it wasn't 'cool to the touch'- but honestly I steered away from actual mattresses that had that feature because I didn't really like the feel of it. This is protecting my mattress and has kept me cooler in the summer on my heat- trapping mattress.

I brought them for my split king bed and at least they fit the mattresses.... they are not cooling or chilled or anything like that and they are very thin. They will protect the mattress just fine.

This product is a necessary "evil" for us. Waterproof covers on your mattress have to have a waxy or plastic-y coating in order to be waterproof. That, in turn, though, makes you wake up feeling clammy. Our daughter is four, however, & she sometimes has nightmares & comes & crawls into bed with us. She also, occasionally, has accidents. We got a new, relatively expensive mattress & decided that we'd better cover it in case both things ever happen in one night. The first mattress cover we bought was awful. It felt like Terry cloth on the outside, but the underlying plastic layer still caused us to wake up every morning wet with sweat. After about 5 days of that, we were done with mattress covers & were ready to just take our chances with something happening to our new mattress. Somebody recommended this cover, though, & we decided to try it before giving up altogether. It's a lot better than the previous one had been. It's still not as moisture-preventing as sleeping on our mattress with just a fitted sheet covering it, but it's a vast improvement over the other cover. So, for any other parents out there with babies or toddlers, this is a good option. It will at least keep you comfortable enough until you no longer have to protect your mattress. Thanks, Serta.

Great quality, tight fit.

This mattress a total disappointment. The cover felt like plastic but I decided to give it a try anyhow since several reviews said it cooled them down. Unfortunately it was anything but cooling… I was roasting in bed with this mattress cover on. I literally had to get out of bed 2 nights to cool down before getting back in. I tried it for several nights but eventually gave up. Totally disappointed and a complete waste of money!

Not sure about the waterproof...it's very thin. i'll have to wait and see

Good waterproof cover, still feels a bit plasticky on the mattress, it as bad as others, had to order a second one because it got destroyed when I washed it, despite following the instructions to a T it came out with the waterproof membrane peeling off
