PUMASelect Men's Suede Classic Plus Sneakers

I used to wear suede pumas all during the 1980s when they were a high quality sneaker made in the former Yugoslavia. I decided to try the burgundy color suede sneakers after not wearing Pumas for over 30 years. These are nothing like what I used to wear. First off, they weigh half the weight and don't feel very durable. You can easily squeeze the sole on the sides which makes them feel like they won't last very long. The actual style of shoe itself has changed also. Although they resemble the original suede sneakers they are made a bit different. They don't feel comfortable either. They come with a really thin insole. It is a shame that Puma let their iconic shoe become nothing more than a pale imitation of what they used to make.

They came in a very off-color and were manufactured poorly. Not the same pumas that I was used to buying. Very disappointed

They are nowhere near as comfortable as my last suede Puma’s. They need to better feed the women and kids stitching/gluing these things up. They aren’t falling apart or anything, they just are made less carefully, I think.The materials also seem to be inferior to previous suedes. I always coat these with suede protectant, so that’s a non-concern. But the architectural layer between outer and inner feels made of the core material of a tennis ball, and the heel cup bites the ankle.They don’t seem to be breaking in at all, so I guess they are special occasion shoes. I want them off as soon as I have them on. They fit and everything. They’re just very much like wearing a shoe made out of plaster. Felt that way before I treated the suede if that helps clarify their default...unyielding solidity.

For myself the fit was correct and comfortable. However, I gave it 4 stars knowingly that the tongue tag of green Puma and white cat on black background is not as the 1970’s era original. Puma’s “jr” size shoes have the white cat and lettering on the tongue like I had back in the day. Still, I desired the nostalgic look and checks the box!Now if I could find an imitation “Kangol”type hat with imitation beaver skin, my look would be complete.

Wanted a pair of PUMA in size 11 wide but they were no where to be found. Was hoping these PUMAs in a size 11 1/2 would work. But still a bit tight. These are good looking walking shoes but very narrow.

It's true to size. the inside cushioning is ok but I added about 0.125in.(1/8in) and it feels great, the suede material looks very nice, it came in with blue and white laces(I used blue for now). I'm planning to buy other colors.

I have owned about 6-8 pairs of the classic suede since the early 90s and most have been consistent and comparable. These looked great coming out of the box, but didn't fit the same. Felt like less arch support and the sole is flimsier and feels thinner than it's predecessor (like less tread on a tire). I am sending these back. A real bummer.

Originally ordered a pair 1/2 size smaller; important to know: Pumas tend to run a bit smaller and I suggest ordering 1/2-1 size up😉
