Yes the size are difficult they’re meant for small Asian people. The shoulders and arms were small I had to alter the top part the arms I’m a size medium but I had to get a extra large and alter it .

The size that’s most important here is the waste where the button fastens. The rest doesn’t really matter. It fits loose. So I would go with medium. It’s a great costume. I wear the coat a lot and always get lots of compliments on it. Super fun!

I got Womens S— I’m 5’3” and my weight shifts from 115-120 lbs and it fits through my fluctuations. I altered mine a bit to be a bit smaller so I feel like it S should work for you, too.
