Starving the Anger Gremlin for Children Aged 5-9 (Gremlin and Thief CBT Workbooks) Paperback – September 21, 2014

I love this book. My child is only 7 and he is following along really well. I break up most chapters into 2-3 "lessons" with my son so we can get as much out of it as possible. I'm even finding uses for this book in my classroom with some of my "quick to anger" students. It is written using British english (or some other kind that isn't American English) so I do have to switch some of the sayings around to American English: i.e. "tell off" a has negative connotation in American English so I just switch this to "got into trouble with_____." Anyway, that is about the closest thing I have to a critique of the workbook. :)

Love the stories and lessons. Really breaks it down in a way that helps my 6 year old. He has even started naming his other emotions gremlins when they get the best of him!

This is a nice book for helping kids identify what anxiety is and how to deal with it. Lots of games / activities to keep them interested. I'd caution against reading about all the things that can cause anxiety as this can result in more fears/sources of anxiety. Instead, focus on those things that are actively sources of anxiety in the child's life.

My son was really struggling with anxiety and it took us a long time to find him a counselor. His school guidance counselor recommended this book to us and it has made all the difference! We have been able to "walk" through different exercises and my son (8) absolutely loves it! It has helped him so much, more than I honestly expected it to!

This workbook addresses anxiety in children in a fun and engaging way. Definitely worth the purchase.

This book was recommended by my son's therapist. He really enjoys working through the pages and it gives him a safe place to collect his feelings!
