Great foil tape
Works good, I used it to help seam together Reflectix to make my car’s side/back window shades. Together they help keep my car MUCH cooler when sitting out in the sun. This tape sticks well. The only con is removing the tape from the backing. I solved this by putting a small piece of scotch tape on a corner of the backing where I wanted to begin pulling. This gives you something to hold on to when you pull the foil. Oh, and when applying, don’t take all the backing off and think your going to lay it down all at once. It will get itself all stuck together. Place a few inches of tape down first before you peel the rest of the backing off. I learned the hard way how sticky this stuff is.

Love this Tape
I used the Reflectix sprial duct insulation and foil tape together so I'm going to review them together. Firstly, I was more than happy with both of these products. I'm not a handy-type person and this was my first experience insulating a duct. The results were better than I expected. The instructions were short and to the point but it would have been nice to have more information on how to handle bends which I'm sure is a very common requirement. The straight parts of the duct were super easy, just cut and tape using several inches of overlap. My duct has one 90-degree bend and that gave me a bit of trouble. The instructions say "If necessary, trim width of product to accomodate bends...". In my inexperience, I took that to mean cut thinner strips and use more of them. That didn't work for me. What I finally ended up doing was cutting the insulation into shapes that would fit when wrapped around the bend. This involved leaving it wide in the middle and then cutting curved sections to narrow the ends so that they fit snugly when taped into place. It seems obvious now but I didn't know! Once I had the right idea, it was easy to do because the insulation cuts with a pair of ordinary scissors. It's very easy to work with.I love the Reflectix foil tape. It works great and it covered up most of my mistakes. I probably used more than needed but I really like the way it holds everything together and the way it looks. One thing I learned when working with the tape is an easy way to peel the foil from the paper backing. Bend a small corner towards the paper-side (so that paper touches paper) and back-again twice. This will cause the paper to slightly separate from the foil at the edge of the fold line to make it easier to get started.Lastly, I did not realize how much heat the uninsulated duct had been throwing off. The temperature in the room is much more stable now and the AC is switching on less often.I wish I had another exposed duct because I want to do it again!

Tape works well to secure insulation around exhaust hose of portable air conditioner
I used this to seal the seams when I used spiral duct wrap, from the same company, to insulate the exhaust hoses on my 2 portable air conditioners. It worked well, but was not simple to use. I found it worked best to use fairly short pieces - otherwise it tended to stick to itself. I also cut the pieces diagonally, which made it easier to remove the backing from the tape. I am pleased with the final result.

Secure and easy to use
I have never had an issue with this tape. I use this to adhere that weird bubble wrap stuff around my AC unit tubes. It sticks and it works. The price is good too. Absolutely recommend for its intended use with an air conditioner.

Like most expensive apartments these days, they suck...
My very expensive "Luxury" apartment is just a 800 sq/ft 1/1 that can't be heated or cooled by it's included central heat/air. In the winter, I have to rely on the HVAC + 2 portable heaters to keep my place from turning into an ice box.In the summer, I have to rely on the HVAC and one 14,000 BTU portable AC unit to keep it around 80 degrees in my apartment.Yup, here in Middle Tn where rent can run you $1500/mo for a 1/1, you also have to pay an exuberant amount for electricity to keep it miserable during the two widely different weather times of the year (Spring and Fall, the temp inside here is just fine)The place next door is brand new, but $200+ more/month, not nearly as nice, and even more cheaply constructed, so I just have to suck it up.My apartment complex provided me w/ the portable AC unit and told me they would pick it up at the end of LAST summer...but I resigned my lease and they knew to just leave it, or they would have to drag this 200lb machine back up 3 flights of stairs to reconnect it to my window. So enter this tape purchase and I slapped the unit back into the window and secured the exhaust hose shroud w/ this tape and all seems fine.

Adhesion on reflectex insulation is poor.
I was making covers with reflectex to contain warmth.I purchased this tape to be used as a lap-cover, joining the wraps together. The edges and corners of the tape come up and fail to adhere to the edge of the tape.I was very disappointed.I had to use much more tape than should have been necessary just to get the seems to remain covered.Easy to tear, easy to peel the paper backing off, but does not bond completely with the reflectex insulation sheets.I cannot recommend this product for the reasons described above.

Nice tape for heat-resistant projects
I bought this tape to use on a homemade Reflectix insulation jacket for my homebrew equipment. I needed tape that was heat resistant. It is nice and wide and super sticky -- be careful about accidentally touching something by mistake, as it's impossible to take it off intact. It's easy to form around corners since, because once the backing is removed, it's just like a piece of aluminum foil. It's a bit tough to remove the backing, so have a sharp edge, like an X-Acto Knife, to help tease the backing off.
