Sparthos Barbell Pad - Comfort Equals Safety

Comfortable and stays on the bar. The padding is thick enough that i can go as heavy as I want. Im pretty sure it will last a long time, but even if i had to buy another one down the road, I'd be fine getting this one. I don't bother with the tiny straps it came with. They're more work than it's worth. It stays on the bar just fine without them.

I didn't notice the straps when I opened up the package and accidently discarded them in the recycling bin. Once I realized my mistake, I contacted the seller and asked to buy some straps separately. They just sent me a replacement pad with straps basically next day without charge. I wasn't expecting that, and now I will look to them for future equipment when looking to add to my home gym or personal equipment etc... As far as the barbell pad, its very comfortable and fits well. Quality, and design is has been thought through. Would buy again. Couldn't be happier.

This thing seems as sturdy as other similar pads. It is great for my wife and kids that lift with me and when pushing heavy I gotta say I don't mind it myself. We have only used it a couple times but so far so good.

Good padding although it has a tendency to roll over when doing hip thrusters..and if you’re a dude like me, you might want to make sure you have kids before using this for hip thrusters. Also- I did my best to tighten it but one of the straps snapped in two. I had to throw a bungy cord on it to keep it in place. This probably isn’t an issue unique to this product but any product that has an opening like this. It would be great if the company would send me a new set of straps that are more robustly built so they don’t snap as easily.

Highly recommend this product if you’re going to use it to hip thrust. Prior I would just use the bar alone and would get bruises on my pelvis area. However when using this product there’s no bruising and provides a lot of comfort. It might be too thick to use for squats (placement behind the back) but for hip exercises I would recommend.

Ok, so I did not notice how thick the padding is from the photos in the posting. When the product arrived, I thought to myself "this thing is way too thick". But upon using it for the first time when performing my squat routine, I ended up absolutely liking it. It made it feel like there was actually nothing sitting on my neck and shoulders. And the velcro straps allow you to tighten the pad so that it doesn't end up rolling on the bar. My old pad would end up rolling in the middle of a squat and when it hit the opening seam the pad would actually start coming off. Super irritating. Not a problem with this Sparthos pad though. It does not roll as long as you tighten the straps.

I have not had to use the straps. I take barbell strength and Les Mills classes. The neck unit is great. Very soft and stays on by itself. It is just a little too long for me to keep on during the front work as my hands are not close enough on the bar, so I take it off snd on.

For this for me to be able to do squats comfortably. And it works perfectly

It's premium foam that feels safe and secure on my shoulders, and not too large like many others made for men. Will buy another!
