BSN, Syntha-6, Chocolate... A safe bet, it's delicious protein!
If you're shopping BSN you know it's because they make protein that tastes phenomenal and works well. Fact!& This flavor is pretty great too. I loved Chocolate Milkshake, but a change now and then is needed.. with protein, that is a long term change.. Like a cell phone..well..Not as bad.. Still, one must choose well!I've tried a few of their other flavors, but always came back to Chocolate Milkshake.(I've not had the 'Dessert' yet though!) The Chocolate Cake Batter has a lighter consistency overall, both as a powder and mixed. It's fluffier and makes for a sweeter sort of taste (Taste a little of each powder to see what I mean.) Sodium levels are oddly the same on both flavors (220mg), and without raising the sugar levels. Smooth! This is some good protein shake! A lighter consistency results in less clumping and clinging.. & less shake to make the shake.I've had cake batter proteins before, and you'll be able to tell that they avoided the typical super-thick consistency of that flavor by the way it mixes (slightly more viscous), Yet it still has the body and richness that a Chocolate Cake Batter should. Since it doesn't coat as much, it also makes for a more pleasant aftertaste. I've yet to try it with milk and/or electrically beaten, which I'm sure will make it VERY rich!Content-wise, they've kicked down the Fiber by 2grams per serving,(which I think is a good thing.. ) and knicked off 2% of Daily Magnesium, and instead almost doubled the Potassium (300mg total) added 7% more Iron, 5% more Calcium, and 5% more Phosphorous. A good trade IMO. Everything else is exactly nutritionally identical. Same amazing formula. It's only around $1-5 more right now, so at that price, it's worth the difference for the improvements.

It's good...
I am drinking it right now. It reminds me of marshmallows. There are very small clumps. I used a shaker cup. I usually use a hand blender for making protein shakes. I could have sworn that the directions said one scoop per 8 oz. I tried to add 16 oz to my shake cup. I ended up with 20 oz and took a sip.I thought to myself, "Just add two scoops." I looked at the directions to verify the serving size and it actually said, "One scoop per 5 oz." If I really had about 20 oz of water in my shaker cup I would need to add about 4 scoops. That is ridiculous in regards to price. The more I drink it the more I like it. For the taste, It's good.

Actually kinda tasty!
We made the mistake of purchasing our first container of this from the gym instead of on Amazon – here the price is much more reasonable. This review is for our newest flavor that we are trying, “Chocolate Cake Batter.” If you are using protein powder like this, you probably aren’t eating too much chocolate cake. First things first, let me say that this actually DOES taste good. If you prepare it as directed, it is a little thick, so I usually water it down just a little bit and mix it in a shaker cup.As far as the product itself, my wife and I have both been using a different flavor of this product for a while now and we have both seen gains in the gym. There are days that my wife has this product for lunch by itself, as it could serve as a meal replacement due to its calorie count. Overall, we both love this product and will try other flavors in the future.

Consistently the best flavor and value
BSN has been the best protein for flavor and consistency among the too powders available. The protein blend, easy of mix, and flavor are hard to beat. You know what you're getting with every tub. The coldstone flavors are good with the German chocolate being the best.

Decent flavor, great nutritional data
The chocolate cake batter flavor really wanted me to give this a 3.5 star rating. Compared to other BSN SYNTHA-6 flavors it is not the best out there. It is a good "meal replacement" type protein powder in that it contains carbs too. Being such, it is a bit high on the calories per scoop, but is definitely manageable if cutting weight and definitely recommendable if bulking. The choco peanut butter flavor is my favorite that I have tried and compare it to the taste of reeses. It doesn't hurt to scale some scoops to confirm the amount that matches up with 1 serving, as if you have noticed before, the directions typically suggest a "hefty" scoop. Also give your shake cup a swirl to break up the scoop in your liquid to avoid chunks sticking to the lid when shaking.

Compared to Metamyosin
Metamyosin runs $25/2lb at my local trader joe's. ($21 from amazon subscribe and save). The stuff is concentrated. Two scoops (57 grams) has 46 grams of protein. 200 calories for the serving of which 92% is from protein.Syntha-6 has better flavor, coming from the interesting sugar source 'cookie bites' (really?). Only 22 g of protein per 47 g serving size - 44% of the calories derive from protein. Not great, but at $25/3lb from amazon subscribe and save, you're still getting a lot of useful product.Ultimately it boils down to how you use this stuff. If you like to suspend it in water or milk and drink, this is a great product. If you prefer smoothies, i would recommend the Metamyosin.

For me, this one works best so far
Tried several proteins (e.g. Muscle Milk, Optimum, Biotest, Myogenix, etc.), in both all all-casein and all-whey---I have 8 different protein powders in my pantry. For me, this one works best so far. I'm not a food scientist or a nutritionist, but I 'feel' best when I use this stuff and it is the one I seem to crave. It strikes a good balance of fast availability (whey) and digestion rate (casein). Now I'm just trying to use up the rest of my other brands between servings of Syntha-6 before buying more.I bought the Choc Cake Batter and it tastes very good. I have had some that, to me, taste better (like Myogenix ICE Dark Chocolate!...yum, may still have to get that one again), but this is very good
