Size:Large (36" x 27") PlayaPup Pup Chiller Cooling Mat is a pressure activated mat. Recommended for dogs with heat exhaustion, for those hot days after walks or any occasion where you see the need for cooling your pet. Cooling mat instantly gives your pet a cool spot to lie down. The safe and non-toxic cooling gel interior will absorb your pet's heat and will cool your pet 7-9 degrees than ambient temperature. For more rapid cooling, put mat in refrigerator for 5 minutes. Simply put the bed on a flat surface like a tile floor or any non-carpeted area so your pet can start to cool down. Cooling mat recharges automatically: mat will release the absorbed heat once the dog gets up and will automatically re-activate after a period of non-use. WHAT’S INCLUDED: Cooling bed pre-filled with a safe and non-toxic gel and a durable nylon exterior and a funnel for filling with water. MEASUREMENTS: Medium mat measures 30 by 24 inches and large mat measures 36 by 27 inches. Beds are approximately 1/4 inch thick when filled with water (please follow instructions carefully when filling mat with water). CLEAN: Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth. Allow to dry before re-using. Do not immerse mat in water. PORTABLE: Easy to roll up and carry. DURABILITY: Will last for years due to its high quality construction. Mold/mildew may occur if stored folded up, be sure to place fabric between folds when storing to help reduce natural condensation from the water. PLEASE KEEP COOLING MAT OFF DIRECT SUNLIGHT: Non-toxic gel interior will absorb the heat. FOR PET USE ONLY. FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.

Our dog loves it!
This is our dogs favorite spot in the summer. We dont like to use the ac when possible and our dog can still sleep easy in 90f with no problem. Amazing how well this works! I kind of want to sleep on it too. Soft and really easy to clean.Update:The mat is DEAD. After having it for 1.5 years, here is the long term review. After some time, the gel gets pushed in the corners since the dog usually sits in the middle, so you will need to massage it back to the center for your dog. Eventually, the gel slowly evaporates until there is nothing left; turning the cooling mat into a thin vinyl sheet. My dog still sat on it, maybe in her mind it felt cooler to her, but really, it became worthless after a year of hard use in the Texas heat. I went with a K&H cooling mat that I can refill, a little more expensive, but at least I can refill it.

Not like the originals, poorer quality.
I had purchased a playapup pet chiller cooling mat before, and my dog had LOVED it. Unfortunately, it got moldy when I stored it over the winter (I didn't pay enough attention to the instructions and had folded it away in our closet for the winter) - that was my fault. So I ordered 2 Large mats for my dog and our new puppy. The construction is different (you have to add water, whereas the original I bought had no such opening). Within 6 weeks, one ripped and leaked all over the place, and yesterday (9 weeks later) the other started to tear and leak by the opening. I just threw them away. These new playpups are not good quality, and not worth the money. I'm really disappointed.

Took awhile, but now a favorite
This past spring our elderly Lab was choosing to sleep on the hard tile floor as opposed to one of his (many) soft beds. He was panting so we assumed we was choosing coolness over softness. We ordered this mat and filled it with water as instructed. We had our dog lay on it several times, commanding him to "stay". He seemed perpetually eager to get off and get back on the tile. So we pushed it to the side of the room and figured we might try to resell it. But lo and behold, one day I walked into the living room and he was sleeping blissfully away. It has become his favorite sleeping spot. When I put my hand underneath it, I can feel the tile is much hotter than the surrounding floor, so it seems to do a good job of transferring heat away from him. After 6 months it is still holding up well.

I purchased this item a year ago and loved it at the time
I purchased this item a year ago and loved it at the time. I took it with me for my puppy's obedience classes. We were required to bring some sort of mat for rest breaks, and my dog loved this. It was hot in the training facility and this was cooler than the floor and much cooler than the room air temperature. However, when I unfolded it to use it again this summer, I found it had discolored and mildewed. Too late, I see that in the description the seller advises to place fabric between folds to prevent mold/mildew. If I can think of a way to clean it, I will; otherwise, it's going in the trash. Pros: Cooler than ambient room air Portable Easily wipes clean (normal dirt, hair, etc.)Cons: Will mold/mildew easily Thin material, should supervise use to prevent tearing and leaking from chewing or accidental punctures

Dogs love it!
Not sure why “warmth” is on here to review, since the idea of the mat is to cool the pups down, but it works great. I much prefer this type of cooling mat to the ones that use something other than water inside. Those never seem to work as well. And my dogs love it!

Works as described
This isn't magical or anything but my long-legged, 44 pound, mixed breed, dog-dude seems to prefer it. I live near the beach so hot for us is in the low 90's (F) but my dog is coal-black so he lounges indoors in non-air-conditioned splendor.I'd still be happy to pay for a powered, chilled platform if some inventor wants to get around to putting one on the market. Think: cool bathroom tiles.Until then, this chiller cooling mat works. It is very durable and feels cool (not cold) to the touch and the dog is using it. He is not the sharpest tool in the shed but simply telling him to sit on it a few times was enough to get him to use it. (Sit is our only command. Nothing else has stuck.)I am a firm believer in realistic expectations and my expectations for this product have been met.

they love it! both lay on their own mat and ...
I bought 2 of these over a year ago for my 2 Saint Bernards because we lived in Alaska and moved to Missouri where it got hot in the summer, they love it! both lay on their own mat and stay cool, the size it just fine for these big dogs they lay their body on it and head off of it so no need for the entire body to fit. I have never had any issues with it i used it all last summer and put it away during the winter and brought it back out this summer and never needed to refrigerate it, i even stepped on it and my feet got cold very fast. I have seen that it didnt work for others but i have had no problems and my dogs love it would recommend and have to others and will get more whenever these wear out.

More negatives than positives...
Let me start with the positives: it's very simple to put together and only needs to be filled with water once. The material is very durable and can tolerate scratching if you have a puppy who does. The price isn't too bad either but here are the negatives: it's slippery, the gel moves to the sides and corners so you constantly have to spread it evenly and worst of all, it does not get as cool as one would think. It feels as cold as a mildly damp towel would and freezing it for 5 minutes per their instructions doesn't last long either. My suggestion is that if you have the money to spend, invest in a better product.

Good product.
Works well but my dogs would likely use it more if it had a softer cover. They're a little hesitant to lay on it because of the plastic-like feel to it.
