3M Xtract Net Disc 710W, 220+, 5 in, Die 500X, Pack of 50 Hook and Loop Sanding Discs, Virtually Dust-Free, Premium Option for Metal, Wood, Composites, Stock Removal, and Fine Finishing

I have a Bosch ROS20VSC sander that I had mostly used with cheap sandpaper from the big box stores, such as Gator brand, and no dust extraction. Based on some reviews from many popular woodworking Youtubers, I decided to give this Xtract 710W a try. The difference between this and some budget paper is amazing. This is hands down the best sandpaper disc I have ever used. I paired a cheap shop vac to my sander and used this sandpaper and it is amazing how quickly it finishes. Even with just 220 grit, it smooths rough framing lumber from the big box store amazingly fast. I purchased this along with the Cubitron II Hookit Clean Sanding Disc Pad Hook Saver. This was recommended for use with mesh discs and it works well. Some reviews talk about these discs not sticking well. With the hook saver disc the mesh pads are completely locked in to your pad. I have been really surprised at just how long I can sand with a single disc, versus the cheap paper I used to use. It's completely changed the way I use my sander. No more working hard to get a decent result. Just a slow pass across the surface with this disc does the trick. I can't recommend this enough and can't imagine ever using another type of sandpaper again.

Open grid great for dust collection, but less grit surface reduces life of paper.

My complaint/suggestion to 3M - Manufacture finer grits...600...1000...2000. My praises - I used 3M Xtract for automotive wet and dry sanding and was really impressed. I sanded wood just to verify that it was as great as it seemed. I rarely sand paint but, always sand wood so I thought maybe that was the difference I was experiencing. It really is great! I used it on my orbital sander as well as for hand sanding. I used several different grits and as expected; the finer grits clog more but, it was minimal. I have used lots of sand paper (primarily for wood applications) and my biggest frustration has always been clogging. This design does an excellent job of overcoming that challenge. The durability is also exceptional. It cuts very well and you can brush it and/or wash it when it clogs to bring it back to life. Very satisfied with adhesion, cutting ability, durability, and anti-clog feature!!! Highly recommended and will never by another brand. ***Make finer grits please***

These sanding disks really do a great job of controlling dust, but I find that the sanding power is less than that of a full sandpaper disk without the mesh. I think these are better for a finer finishing grit, than for a lower coarser grit.

This sandpaper is the real deal.. not only cuts through very well but is also really good for finishing (w 220, 320, etc). However, be mindful of how they label the grits with a “+” at the end. I’ve noticed, when finishing with 220+, the surface is incredibly smooth (smoother than all other 220s I’ve tried) but causes wood to absorb less stain, eventually reaching a plateau of how dark the stained wood can get. Would not be a concern if painting, but might want to try finishing with 180+ instead if you’re used to 220 with other ceramic sandpaper. Otherwise, it’s worth the hype I’d say 👍

I will always use the #M Xtract Net Discs. They last the longest and seem to sand faster than typical sanding discs. The hook and loop on these seem to last longer than others as well.

due to a super breathable design, this thing does not clog, and it lasts a Loooong time. I never knew a quality sand paper will save so much hassle, elbow grease, and time. I'm not spending any money on sand papers with lesser of quality than this.
