32/42mm Wood Splitting Drill Bit, Black Carbon Steel Hex Shank Screw Splitting Cone Twist Firewood Drill Bit, for Family, Outdoor, Camping, Farm (32mm)

Tried other simiilar types with no luck. This one works well. And, no, I was not put up to write this! It does work well.

I bought both the 32 and 42mm ones. I watched a video where it shows them splitting wood and these threaded cones ripped right through the log. Well I though this could be convenient to split wood instead of swinging a maul, especially for smaller pieces. So i grabbed a peice of black walnut that was relatively small for a log. It was 6" in diameter, and only 10" long. Because this was a piece that I was going to put on my lathe, It was very short. Well I thought that being only 10" long, it would split easily. Well I buried the first cone into the side of the log, and nothing happened except I injured my leg once the log started spinning from the excessive torque my Milwaukee Drill puts out. The second one, I tried to drill in from the top down, going with the grain as I also seen this in the video. Well again, I injured my leg, but this time it was from the first wedge that was already stuck hit my leg and drew blood. These $%^&ing things don't even come close to working. If you are splitting a 2" piece of basswood, maybe you have a chance, otherwise, don't waste your money. Also, be careful. You can't even stand on the log as you do this as it will probably take you off your feet and when it grabs, you can actually break your wrists trying to hold your drill. This is the worst device for the worst application. Stick with a maul to split wood, at least for the $40, the maul will work for years and years. Totally disapppointed, I want my money back but I can't get these $%^&*ing things out of the log. Should I send the log too??? And are they going to ship my black walnut back after they get them out?

All it does is bury itself in the wood about 1/4", then your drill stops turning.

It wouldn't split even one piece of seasoned wood. It stuck in the wood, causing a minor injury as the torque from the required drill caused the wood to spin. Do not buy.

This product sucks, I tried it tonight for the first time and it just got stuck basically throwing my drill out of my hands. It was so hard getting out it almost split my drill. I would never recommend this product to anyone your better off with an axe

I ordered both sizes separately and they both showed up rusty. They were packaged very well so I dont believe it happened during shipping. Look up youtube reviews on the product and that's how they work. Works good on dry wood.

I'm not sure what this was designed for. But it's not for splitting anything, stay with the old reliable axe for those small jobs. And go buy the kids ice cream instead.
