Is this suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans?

Since we don't know if animal manure was used to grow it, it might not be okay for some Vegans.

Is it basically sticky rice?

This is not “Sticky Rice” which is a different rice used for making mochi. But it is stickier than basmati, jasmine or long grain.

I'd like to make rice balls or sushi rolls for my kids.Does it work well for that purpose?thnx

Yes. It is perfect for rice balls or sushi rolls. I used it to make 54 SPAM Musubi hors d'oeuvres for an event. Your kids might like SPAM Musubi. You get a little plastic mold to create the SPAM Musubi treats: (1) put down a sheet of nori, (2) put the mold in the center of the nori sheet, (3) put in a layer of boiled sushi rice and press down with follower, (4) put in a slice of SPAM and press down with follower, (5) put in another layer of boiled sushi rice and press down with follower, (6) unmold the rice/SPAM block and wrap the nori around it. and start all over again with the next treat.

How many people can this bag of rice feed?

Depends on what you are making. I fed 52 people Hawaiian SPAM Musubi hors d'oeuvres as part of a Pot Luck dinner. It expands quite a bit and a cup can make a lot of sticky rice. This rice is used with Sushi Nori sheets to make Sushi and similar treats.
