Mix Media Pad Ohuhu Square 8.3"x8.3" Mixed Media Art Sketchbook 120 LB/200 GS...

I have DOZENS of different sketchbooks because I am very, VERY picky when it comes to sketchbooks. I have so many where I just do a few pages and abandon them. I was afraid to try the Ohuhu sketchbooks since they’re a bit pricey, but no more so than something like a Strathmore Mixed Media, and definitely cheaper than something like an Etchr. Since I absolutely LOVE Ohuhu markers, I decided to take a chance. I’m only about 10 pages into this one and already ordered another one! BEST mixed media sketchbook I’ve tried so far! Look, you’re never going to find a “perfect” mixed media sketchbook, because different media will work differently on different papers. It’s extremely unlikely that any company will invent a paper that can work equally well with alcohol markers, water-based markers, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, etc. But this is the closest I’ve ever found. It has a nice tooth that takes graphite and colored pencil well. Alcohol markers blend nicely on it with minimal patchiness. Water-based markers are slightly streaky, but they are on nearly any paper. It can handle wet media fairly well because the paper is pretty thick. You can’t use a TON of water on it without it warping, but it handles light washes like a champ and medium washes with just slight warping. Same for gouache. Watercolor pencils work BRILLIANTLY on it. Paint markers like Posca and Arrtx don’t pill the paper and look smooth on it. I will still keep trying different sketchbooks because I enjoy doing so, but this one is HANDS DOWN the best one I’ve found for an all-around mixed media sketchbook. I’m abandoning my old favorite, the Strathmore mixed media, because Ohuhu is cheaper, has more features, and works better, IMO. And I LOVE the square format! This just keeps proving to me that Ohuhu is the very best company for beginner to intermediate artists, period.

This, by no exaggeration, is THE journal I have been looking for.... for months now. The paper is completely different than most (including ohuhu's other journal just meant for markers) and is perfect for light (non-professional) watercolor art works. The water itself is absorbed in perfect time to be able to spread the color and it leaves a satisfying yet natural looking texture after dry. I will 100% be getting another one of these after I run out of the one I just received. My only complaint is that the spine could be slightly more reinforced with something to make it bend around less and feel a tad less fragile. It does NOT, by any means, come apart on you... it just makes me a bit nervous sometimes XD. I feel like the dimensions and page count are also perfect because in many watercolor pads, journals or sketchbooks I have received before, there are only about 25 sheets and each page feels too precious to use. The dimensions are perfect for sitting it on a small desk, in your lap, or basically anywhere else. I'm planning on using mine possibly for some on site urban sketching and it seems like it will be perfect in almost every way.

I have so far used this for heavy watercolor color or gouache paint practice and it has held up really well. The paper has a nice thickness and texture making easy for me to sketch or paint whenever. Overall a solid sketchbook for an artist or creative alike.

I wish I had known about this sketchbook before. The paper is gorgeous and has just enough tooth so I can use both my Microns and Polychromos pencils. The cover is a cool material and made of some kind of non-slip material. I really like the frosted sheet that you can take out and put behind the page you're working on just in case of an ink bleed through. Sometimes I do add lots of ink to a page so is a plus for me. It has a huge pocket in the back for storing small sheets of paper if you need it but I don't usually use those. I also like the elastic that holds it close and the page maker is a nice touch, too. This is now my go-to brand and I will get it again!

This paper is SO THICK and can take so much! I have put many layers and have yet to see pilling or bleed-through. This is the best journal I’ve ever used.

アクリル、パステル、油性色鉛筆、ジェルメディウムでコラージュ、 ミックスメディア用だけあって使いたい画材が問題なく使える。 鮮やかな色もスモーキーな色も発色が良い。 200g厚ながらマスキングテープにも十分耐える。 マステを剥がす時はドライヤーで熱を当てながら剥がすと綺麗に剥がれる。 薄い付属下敷きの上に紙を一枚プラスして下敷きにすると敷いた紙がよく吸水し今のところ他ページへの影響なし。 キャンバスや板材はハードル高いけどカジュアルにちゃんと作品を描きたい日、そういう日にぴったりのスケッチブック。

I really love this sketchbook! The square shape is a nice change from the traditional rectangular layout—it feels fresh and fun to work with. The paper thickness is excellent and holds up well to various media, especially alcohol markers. I really appreciate the tear-out lines, which make it easy to remove pages cleanly when needed. The included soft writing mat is a thoughtful touch—it protects the sheet underneath from press marks or bleed-through. I’ve even used rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to wipe it clean after marker work. Overall, it’s a well-designed, versatile sketchbook that works beautifully for both dry and wet media.

This Ohuhu Mixed Media Pad has completely blown me away. The paper is thick, smooth, and handles quite a few mediums, alcohol markers don’t bleed through a lot only if you overlay them a lot, but if you put paper behind to protect other pages behind its fine! A range of fineliners and ink don't bleed out like many other sketchbooks, and even gouache/watercolor layer really nice without buckling or eating away at the paper. The hardbound square size I've found has been my favourite to work in, easy to hold not to big but definitely not too small, I’ve tried a lot of sketchbooks to find the best mixed media one but this one is easily the best I've found. For the price which is quite cheap considering the amount of pages and size, the quality is incredible!! Doesn't shock me that Ohuhu is such a reliable brand!

I bought this sketchbook because it’s square and didn’t have much expectations. However I’m very impressed how good the paper is even when using watercolors! I can make few watercolor layers and the color stay vibrant. It has a lot of pages and I can use it for colored studies or pieces for instagram.
