how do you wire this electromagnetic lock

All you need is a 12VDC or 24VDC power supply (depends on the model you buy), I would recommend at least capable of putting out 1A. As long as the power is supplied, the lock will be held closed. You can put in a switch between the power supply and the lock to control on/off. If you want to install a pin keypad or keyless remote entry then you will have to buy a separate kit for that... But essentially the same concept, they will provide constant 12VDC to the lock holding it closed until you enter a key releasing the lock for few seconds.

It any other door electromanegnetic powerfull than 1,200 lbs

The standard holding forses are 600 lbs and 1200 lbs. 1200 lbs is a very strong holding forse and feel it is more than adequate to hold in any situation.

Is this suitable for an outdoor installation like a garden gate?

Yes, but the incoming wires has to be covered and you will have to seal the edges on the unit. I think this unit is a little too powerful for a garden gate.

What size wire should be used to connect the power supply to the lock?

18 gauge wire is fine unless it is a long run than go to 16 gauge stranded is best
