Joby MPod mini is a great little tripod/holder for your mobile.
The MPod mini is a great "all in one" solution for holding your smartphone/media player/etc. at specific angle, for not a lot of money. Whether used for taking pictures or entertainment, it is easy to use and just works. If you haven't used Joby stuff before it is solid gear that you will enjoy owning for awhile. To no surprise the MPod mini is one of my favorite purchases recently and gets used several times a day. Hoping they hit prime availability in the next week so I can get some as stocking stuffers! To give you some background, I am not a Joby employee but do currently have the Joby Micro250 , Gorillapod, & Griptight products. I use these with my iphone (5) for taking pictures, watching movies on flights, or just holding a phone off the countertop while charging. My other Joby products all do a great job, but are either bulky or too limited in range of movement. So I ultimately end up carrying a few "pieces" around, or just leave them at home.Enter the MPod: It is small, does not have interchangeable parts or mounts, is very light, but has a very ingenious grip system. it can support better viewing angles than you would get with the Micro250+Griptight solution, yet is smaller than the GorillaPod Micro + Griptight solution. Perfect!I know you are saying "Chris I see it has those legs..does it grip?" the MPod does not wrap around things like the Gorillapod because the legs are much shorter. Think of it instead as a highly flexible stubby tripod for your phone and you will be happy. Yes I called them stubby, but the legs are long enough that you can put a largish phone (DROID MAXX for example) in the jaws, and aim it at a 35 degree or so angle, and it wont fall over.Grip disclaimer out of the way and you are happy? good, because I have used it to grip window edges, cardboard box edges, tops of cubicles, etc. It is ok for hanging around on SOME things but not as easy to setup to grip as the gorillapod bigger brother. For me, that is great though - because no long arms or different components means I can tuck it in my bag and take with me without the muss and fuss. I was even able to drop the whole setup in a cupholder in my car just to prevent my phone from floating away while navigating, was perfect for that. The "phone grip" system is pretty smart on this because it has two plastic "C-shaped" halves that have rubber inside the "C" and are held together with a bungee cord. A bare iphone5 will fit fine in them, and I have used cases up to an iphone5 in a lifeproof case, and phones as large as the droid maxx - all without issue. The inside of the "C" is cut in such a way that the phone tilts a little into it, putting more rubber in contact with the phone - providing a more secure grip. The MPod mini is the best 20$ I have spent on a phone stand thus far.I will update with more details as I think of them, or if you have anything YOU want to know - just comment and I will reply when possible. Thanks!Chris

Pretty cool, but a little wiggly for photos without some help.
This works great and is pretty stable, but you'll want to download the JOBY free self-timer app for your phone if you're buying it to take pictures. Because the phone is held by an elastic holding the two jaws, when you hit the button to take a photo, it vibrates the phone, thus defeating the reason you bought the tripod. The self-timer fixes this. For a stand just to hold your phone to watch video or watch for incoming messages, it's great though. It's pretty compact, but not teen-tiny. You'd probably want this if you carry it in a bag, but look for something else if you want to carry it in your pocket. One thing, this will not hold your phone vertically. You can use it vertically by setting the phone up and propping it with the Joby's legs, but you can't turn the phone to vertical while in the Joby itself. Not a huge deal, but if you're using your phone for an app you want to be vertical, like, say, Facetime, you might want to look for a different stand.

PORTRAIT mode AND Landscape Mode. Mini tripod holds iphone 6 w case
it is quickest to put iPhone in Landscape mode. No fiddling. However- It works great to hold the phone in portrait mode, if you are on a flat surface. One MOBY leg behind the phone, 2nd MOBY leg to the side of the phone, and third "leg" of tripod is the iPhone resting on the surface. The third MOBY leg is a counterbalance in the air. I'm using my checkbook as the "phone" bec I needed the phone for the camera.great for my zoom class.

It has changed everything.
This product has changed everything. I used to wake up with sore arms from watching youtube in bed. I used to always be adjusting to hold my phone even while trying to lay down. I used to have to prop my phone on pillows and blankets only to find them falling over in the end. But now I don't have to suffer. I can relax, curl up, and just enjoy watching videos. I'm not exaggerating this product has made a positive improvement in my life. I find myself being able to watch the shows instead of just listening to them. The arms are prefect for attaching to the side of my bed frame which is slightly above my eye level. A maneuver like this would normal leave my arm exhausted, but now I can do it with ease. This stand is also perfect for taking time-lapses. It also works on a desk, or a counter or anywhere. I love this and have bought 3 of them (one for me, and two for friends).

Fits Lumia 1020. Barely fits Lumia 1020 in a case.
I've been using this stand for about 6 months now. I do not recommend this stand for larger or heavier phones like my Lumia 1020 or an iphone in an Otterbox. I find that while I am able to get the phone to fit, it's best only when used upright. The short legs combined with extra weight of a larger phone makes it hard to wrap around poles or any other kind of creative posing. I also find the weight makes it hard to make fine-tuned adjustements (levelness, tilt, etc.) and usually just do that with an editing app.I was also disappointed by the plastic. It was clearly a cheaply molded, rapidly produced product. Actually, it was so poor I wondered if mine was a knock-off. But then again, you get what you pay for.I don't love this product, but I still keep it with my in my car so I have it when the occassion comes around.

Truly pocketable Tripod
Great pocketable tripod for phones, really ingenious lightweight clamp. Only problem is the joints are fragile; once the socket pops out, it splits the side of the socket and that joint will never be stiff again. Definitely troublesome for larger phones, limits the amount of tilt you can have on your phone before it starts to droop.

The small tripod is absolutely excellent. It works surprisingly well
The small tripod is absolutely excellent. It works surprisingly well, even for larger smart phones. It was a tight fit, but I was able to fit my Nexus 6, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and the LG V10. Those are some of the largest smart phones, so I'm sure your phone will fit as well. The tripod stays stable as long as you adjust the legs properly. Will be buying more Joby products as I purchase new camera.

OK. The jaws that grip the phone intrude on the visible screen a bit, which is annoying. Plus the legs aren't symmetrical in relation to the jaws which is odd and frustrating to balance at times. Other than that, it works just fine.

Price wise its a great deal and is very convenient to use
Even though this is by Joby, this is not the same quality as the larger GorillaPod.Price wise its a great deal and is very convenient to use. But i need to be little delicate with this, unlike the GorillaPod which i just throw around knowing it wont break.

Fait bien son travail
Petit pied sans prétention. Facile pour placer un smartphone.Personnellement je préfère un modèle sans élastique mais comme petit pied d'appoint pourquoi pas !
