Ordered two of these a few weeks ago for two Toshiba Satellite C55-B5356, battery Model NO. PA5185U-1BRS, DC 14.8V/45Wh/2800mAh. Had one laptop at home and one at work, same age, similar setup. Batteries are always hard to review early, as you don't have good experience to judge battery life. But, in terms of fitting correctly, no errors on boot, no incompatibilities experienced, BIOS and Windows both correctly recognizing and charging, Windows power settings features functioning, charging/discharging correctly, running on battery for extended periods of time, etc., everything has worked just like a new OEM battery. I have not timed the use while on battery, and of course, that changes depending on what you are doing on the system, but they have been lasting into a couple of hours, at least. I can't be more pleased with the performance, or the price. The excellent price has allowed me to inexpensively extend the life of a couple of trustworthy laptops. In fact, it might just be coincidence, but I had recently been having problems with my home laptop running extremely slow, even though it is used much less, and has much less software on it. I was thinking there was something else going on, but ever since I installed the replacement battery it has ran much better. Possible coincidence, but maybe better power has improved the performance!? Hope this helps.

A great price, has brought our old laptop back to life again! We didn't want to have to replace our 5 yr. old laptop yet, as it is in otherwise perfect working condition. The original battery has long since given up and will no longer hold a charge. After installing this battery, the pc noticed it right away with no issue, began charging it properly until 100% was reached. I have been getting approx. 3 hrs. out of this battery while in our camper/traveling. Best thing is, no more BIOS warning that the battery is low every time I turn it on! Oh yeah, now the clock also stays set!

This battery fit my Toshiba Satellite C55-C laptop with no problem. I didn't realize it was a lower capacity battery than others that only cost a few dollars more. I wish I had ordered the higher capacity battery (45Wh or higher). It doesn't say what the capacity is in the description on Amazon, but I believe this is less than 35 Wh. It doesn't matter except in the rare instance when I take it remotely for the day and don't want to lug the battery around. I'm keeping it and giving it 4 stars for the low price, compatibility and ease of replacement.

Fired up an old Toshiba after about 4-5 years of inactivity and battery was dead, dead, dead. Suspected it was the battery after trying all the usual repair procedures.....nothing. Ordered this one and the machine fired up, charged up fully, and appears to be holding the charge well. Haven't tried to run it down to 5%, but so far it acts like the original would have. Tell ya what. Its at 100% now and I'll let it idle, off the power cord for an hour or two with my gmail account open and then report back. ..............ok, 1 HR, 15 minutes later with gmail, contacts and McAfee running, I still have 65% power, apparently enough for another 2+ hours at the current usage. Of course that will drop rapidly if I open up a lot of apps and do a lot of work on the laptop. Even so, for an old satellite laptop, the new battery works swell.

I dug my old Toshiba C55D-5219 laptop out of storage to try out Linux on it without doing a dual boot on my Windows laptop. The Toshiba laptop would not even turn on unless it was plugged into the wall charger. The new battery fixed that and with the screen brightness set around 45% or 50% I get between 3 to 4 hours of use from it on a full charge, which is about what I got from my original battery when it was new. It was super easy to install, just removed two screws on the back of the laptop case to remove the old battery and the new one went right back in the same spot, screw hole brackets lined up perfectly.
