On dryer balls and car ownership ...
I and my spouse have a partition (money my spouse and I put aside each pay period,) towards the maintenance of our two older automobiles. Instead of buying 'new' cars we have kept and will continue to keep the ones we own. So when a scheduled maintenance came due on one of our vehicles I checked our auto maintenance partition and found we could comfortably give the mechanic who performed the maintenance a tip and also tip the one who gave my spouse a ride from the mechanics to his work and back. We also found we were able to get a little something for each of the employees. In the price range we were able to afford to do this the dryer balls fit in. I and my spouse use these instead of fabric softener and found they reduce drying time and also we do not need to pick up fabric softener at the store since we no longer use any, the dryer balls soften our fabrics even better in my opinion. So I thought this would be something nice to give these folks also, they will no longer spend any money on fabric softener, and also consume less plastic packaging or boxes (that the liquid or sheet fabric softener would come in.) We are able to give seven sets to them. To those who have a loan or lease on a vehicle. If after paying off the loan If you decide to own and keep your vehicles rather than trading them in I recommend building up a partition towards their maintenance if you do not already do this. It took three years for my spouse and I to build up our auto maintenance partition before we were able to tip or do this. If you already own your vehicles but do not have a savings toward their maintenance I recommend putting as much as you can toward this each pay period. If you were able to afford a certain amount for a car payment you might put this amount away each pay period. Don't worry that you have too much in there. You will be able to afford to repaint it in decades if it needs it, etc. etc.-by Julie Sands

Dryer Balls are great!
ok, I originally bought them as a friend makes her own. Just not my kind of things so I saw these and liked the background of the dryer balls.I LOVE them and use them in every load. I do have a caveat - if you are doing very large blankets and even large loads of polyester shirts, put a piece of a dryer sheet in the dryer. I have to use a commercial dryer and there is never any static clean if you do it by adding a quarter of a dryer sheet. Normal clothes just put em the dryer and come back sooner than you would normally. Does cut the time of the dryer. I put Lavender essential oil of three drops on the ones I am using about every four loads and my clothes are not heavily scented but smell reasonably good. I do not like a heavy scent but if you used more, you might get more of a scent on your clothing.

Prefer dryer balls over fabric softeners.
I will never use fabric softener again. The wool balls fluff beautifully. I used a natural peppermint oil - just a few drops on one ball - in every other load "just because". I am allergic to ALL chemical smells and laundry products. Modern manufacturers do not understand what CLEAN smells like because they put in all types of chemical smells to make you think things are clean. I love the fresh, sunshine smell of clean laundry and using the wool dryer balls in wintertime are about as close as I can get. After 2 years of use, they begin to separate and start coming apart, but considering the amount of use, I have no complaints. I used some yard wrapped around a couple of the balls to hold together which doesn't seem to impart performance. I have shown them to so many people who become "converts" and find this system to be my solution to a serious problem.

Amazing product; too much plastic packaging
Just used these to dry my heavier towels/blankets and they worked like a dream. I added some lavender essential oils to them and it added a nice scent to my laundry. The only reason why I give this product 4 stars is because the drawstring bag these come in, is plastic. I got these specifically to aid in my transition to a zero waste lifestyle, where my main goal is to eliminate as much plastic as possible. Being a natural product, from an environmentally conscious manufacturer, it would make more sense to send them in a cotton drawstring bag. This will help eliminate plastics and it'll ultimately last much much longer for storing them. I know this is an issue for a very small niche of people, but still think it should be addressed. Overall amazing product, 100% worth the money.

Love these balls!
Hated opening my dryer to find the clothes on the bottom were all wrinkled and needed to be tossed again with a damp towel. Now I love opening my dryer to fluffy towels and clothes and smelling wonderful, too! I purchased a set of scented oils and use it most of the time, but sometimes I forget to put the oil on the balls but the scent lasts a long time anyway. I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I do, and don't forget the scented oils!

Best. Purchase. Ever.
How'd I get over 30 years as a housewife and not hear of these sooner? They work quite well and No More Dryer Sheets! I can spritz them with some of my essential oils and the whole load of laundry takes on a unique, spa quality - scented towels and sheets and No Residue! Once the laundry is pulled out of the dryer, just toss the balls back in the dryer to be ready for the next load. No ugly box on top of the dryer, No ratty little dryer sheets to pull out of little sleeves, or find in the sheets or in the leg of a pair of slacks. No more dryers sheets floating wispy around the laundry room floor. The only thing they were good for was cleaning my eye glasses, or giving the bathroom mirror a spiffy up cleaning for a speck of toothpaste.

But I don't feel like the drying time is cut down or my clothes ...
I guess these work well???? I wanted to join the revolution to get rid of dryer sheets, specifically b/c they left oil stains on my clothes. But I don't feel like the drying time is cut down or my clothes are fluffier, but I don't know that I would be able to tell a difference anyway. I do like that I can add oils to the balls to make my laundry smell nice and the scent isn't too strong. What I am having trouble with, is the static that I now have that the balls don't seem to do anything about.

Great for reducing drying time, fluffing clothes. Use white vinegar for static
These dryer balls work well for me, they work by reducing your drying time, fluff/soften your clothes and reduce some static. Keep in mind, they are called DRYER BALLS not ANTI STATIC BALLS. Some people may find that these dryer balls don't work for static but they have to consider that polyester and nylon fabrics will cause static regardless of these dryer balls. A NATURAL WAY TO REDUCE STATIC is pouring 1/2 cup - 1 cup of white vinegar in the wash cycle; IT WORKS GREAT, try it. White Vinegar is the best replacement for static sheet which is actually really bad for your skin. Don't worry about the white vinegary smell, once the clothes are dry, the smell goes away completely.I bought 2 packs of these packs of these dryer balls, and I also bought darker dryer balls for my colour and dark clothes. The darker dryer balls are smaller but come in a pack of 8.I wouldn't recommend using these dryer balls for baby clothes and it's an itch factor for them. Natural Wool and babies = no good. RECOMMEND
Bought some for myself first to test, and then bought a second set for a gift to someone who doesn't like to use any chemicals in her home. We both love them. They are especially wonderful for towels - instead of fabric softener - so the towels are fluffy and soft but still absorbent. I just leave the balls in my dryer so they are always on duty.

Great for cloth diapers
We use these in the dryer with our cloth diapers and then also with towels. Anything that you shouldn’t use fabric softener or sheets on. I do find they help dry the items a bit faster. No change in the static department though, things still come out pretty staticy but that’s fine. I wish they were a touch heavier but for the price they are great. We have been using them for over a year now!

Not sure if making a difference
I bought these because I read it improves dryer efficiency. So far I haven't noticed a reduced drying time in the first few loads I've done. One thing I have noticed is that they attract hair and lint, so they end up like hairballs after a few loads, kinda icky. It's not that easy to remove the hair once it gets tangled around the balls, since they're felt.

Unable to get rid of static
These dryer balls are pretty good. I always use all six in the dryer with each one dotted with essential oil. I'm giving them 4 stars because they do not get all the wrinkles out and forget about getting rid of static, they are unable to do that. I have used hem several times but I've gone back to my usual fabric softener. I keep them around for when I have run out of softener.
