Relics of Eternity

Book Seven picks up with Morgan Casimir again. She is sent out to try to investigate what may be Precursor artifacts, and along the way picks an exo archeologist more familiar with the subject than most. She uncovers what might be their first LIVING Precursor artifact...but will it be friendly?This is a good book but I really can't reveal much without spoilers. All of the books build on each other to an extent and this one a bit more than most because it requires some knowledge of the overall political situations of the various empires. It's a great expansion once again to the existing universe and how Humans fit into it.VERY recommended...you'll like it!

I've really liked the Duchy of Terra series but this one seemed disjointed and adrift from the rest of the series. I had a hard time accepting the plot - that a bunch of otherwise rational beings from this universe could somehow decide to begin fanatically worshipping an ancient alien machine as a God. Just couldn't buy it.
