Love this machine!!!
Having had three professional treatments at 150.00 a pop for pits, Hoo and legs, I balked at spending another 150.00 for a few more treatments every couple of months.I bought this and am thrilled. I’ve used it on all three areas on my self and two girlfriends. One GF has red hair and the carpet is lighter than the drapes , so she didn’t get a very good result after three treatments. We crank the light all the way up and hold an ice pack to the more tender areas for about a minute before zapping. It does feel like a quick, hot poke in the really tender areas, but no worse than plucking one of the tougher eyebrow hairs. You don’t feel anything in the areas that have no hairs. If there are hairs that you missed shaving before your session, those crackle and snap. Leaving a waft of burned hair smell and a tiny, black, burned bit of hair.My other GF used an EpiLady for many years and is tougher than the average gal and she has milk white skin and very dark, abundant , eastern block hair.Three treatments in, 2 weeks apart, she is showing patches of smooth, no hair spots. She doesn’t shave between treatments ( and is very crabby about it because she hates body hair) so I know where to zap her.You can tell the affected hair, because as your working and moving the hand piece, a few hairs seem to just fall out.She is about 25% less hairy after three treatments than when we first started. We three have used a single light all over our bodies for a total of 2 whole treatments. Before it caved. We did a little quick math and estimated it was well over 3000 zaps.We are going into our 2nd month of treatments with the 2nd replacement light now. I have maybe 40 stray hairs on each leg and my pits and Hoo are much less hairy.I could easily get by with shaving once every 2-3 weeks. The red hair bowed out. She’s pretty sensitive and couldn’t handle the anticipated zap and not get results as fast as she wanted.Me and my Eastern European girlfriend are still going to zap each other every two weeks until there’s nothing left to zap. It’s bonding for us. LolMy recommendation also would be to set the handpiece down for a few minutes between big hair groups. Like give it a 3 minute test after doing pits. 3 minutes Hoo/Bikini line and 3 minutes rest after each leg. Watch the little lightbulb light. As long as it’s green. You have lots of zaps. When it goes to amber, you have maybe 100 more.Once it’s starts blinking, set the handset back down and let it run for 5 minutes to cool before you change out the bulb.Don’t touch the replacement except for on the side ridge and be sure you have the pins aligned in the right direction before you slowly and carefully put the new one in.I love this little machine and am glad I bought it.It’s more fun if you have a friend or partner help. AND. Don’t be afraid to chill your skin for 15-30 seconds with an ice pack before you zap to minimize the zap.

And I would absolutely recommend it. One tip
First I'll say, it has worked for me. I wish I had bought this ages ago. And I would absolutely recommend it.One tip, take care to treat every little inch of skin as you go, and with consistent or increasing intensity. Otherwise you might end up with some creative bare patches along the way, like I did.In the pictures:1st one is the "before", prior to having shaved.2nd is at about 3 weeks (about 2 treatments in) Notice the weird pattern of patches. I think I did one treatment at 3 and another felt brave at 5.3rd is about a month in.4th pic is about 6 weeks in. Obvious hairless patches at this point (which are smooth to the touch).Having said all that it really does work. So far I've treated my underarms, upper & inner thighs, and my bikini area, all successfully. Initially I used it about every 10 days or so, usually at intensity 3 on my underarms and thighs to 1 on my bikini area. After about 3 weeks, I noticed an obvious difference in hair growth in my underarms (and an interesting pattern that showed the spots I missed). The rest have taken longer, because of the lower intensity treatment, but now after about 2.5 months (treatment was way less consistent in the last month or so), I really only shave in order to continue treatments because hair growth is scant and not very noticeable. Now I use a 4/5 for underarms and thighs, though can usually still only go to about 2 for bikini area.I wish I could actually give it 4.5 stars instead over two specific things, one of which doesn't even alter it's effectiveness. The sensor is on the base of the unit. it's awkward and cumbersome to place the sensor on the necessary area before starting treatment. I'd be so much easier if it were on the handpiece itself. Also, The handpiece does get a bit hot even if you take care to not block the vents. It's not so much that it alerts you to turn the unit off, but enough that it's noticeable and uncomfortable in my hand, and it seems the pulse itself is a tiny bit more painful than when the unit is cool.

WORKS! Upgrade to one without cartridges-they are expensive... and you will use a lot of them.
So, this little guys DOES work. But, like everybody else says, it takes time. I’ve been using it for a little over a month and there is quite the reduction in hair. It’s weird, when I shave and then use it-the stubble will begin poking back in around 3 days. When I go to exfoliate (I use one of the Korean skin peel types that make your skin ball up before a shower), the hairs fall out and there is dramatically less stubble. I use it weekly because I miss a lot of spots no matter how hard I try to keep it even. It’s really easy to lose track. The bald spots are patchy, so I’m sure I continue to miss spots. I do my armpits, legs, feet, chin, Brazilian style bikini (yes... even there!) some spots are slower to respond to the IPL than others.I would upgrade the model you buy to one WITHOUT cartridges and a very high amount of pulses. I’m so annoyed that I basically get 1-2 whole body sessions out of each cartridge. I bought the second round of them from the manufacturer in case amazon had knock offs. Still, not much use out of them for $25 each. I’ve already used 5 (3 or 4 came with, I forgot). But I’ll definitely need more and it easily totals a higher price line. Plus I’ll need even more, for life due to maintenance sessions.
