It's amazing to think that from the depths of relationship with Jesus that Guyon, Fenelon, and Molinos walked in some 300+ years ago, that the Church in the 21 century is still floundering in such an infantile state, so unaware of how much of "self" is in the way of accomplishing the will and purpose of our Father God in the world.

The excerpts from the writings of these three ultimately connected people moved my spiritual markers yet deeper. Their instruction can lead to more meaningful experience of God, directly, personally, and most movingly. These are not the instructions of scholars to scholars - these are the held up lamps of personal experience - that lead to full on heart to heart with God.

Includes short devotions from my three favorite Christian writers. So many devotionals out there are hackneyed, or just plain not relevant. This one hits real life right where you live, ups and downs. If you're sick of devotionals that make the writer sound like they're super human and never have a down day, you'll love this. These saints were all persecuted and imprisoned over a century ago. Yet the translation and selections, even the chapter layout is right on for today. Highly recommend!!!

I read a chapter a day & have enjoyed the writings of each contributor. This is for those who hunger to draw closer to our Good Father, for such hunger is desired by Him. He's got so much of Himself to reveal, but like Moses did in Exodus 33 we must ask. I'm still in awe that I have a Father who longs to reveal Himself to His own. It's actually the entire story of the Holy Scriptures--in a nutshell.

There are not many books that are too rich for you not to read in one sitting. This is one of those books. I have been touched and deeply affected by the writers in this book. This book with the classic writers seems to fit right into the way of thinking that the Lord is opening up in my understanding by His Spirit about what it means to "live in the Kingdom." The basis foundation of abiding in Christ goes solidly through these writings and so consistent with what I am rereading of Andrew Murray as I grow in understanding what Kingdom Living means, and how it affects EVERY area of our lives as we learn who we are in Christ Jesus and who He is in us, even as He is in the Father and the Father is in Him, therefore He is in us.

This book is for those who desire more of God. Excellent to use as a daily devotional.

An excellent read, I use it daily meditating on the writings of these saints, powerful & very challenging that takes me out of my comfort zone to a posterngate of blessing.
