Scarlet Darkness Colonial Dress for Women Modest Prairie Pioneer Costume Outfits

Bought this for a play. The sizing is great, the fabric is a little thin, but this will be very welcome under the stage lights.

It was just what I needed. My only complaint is it is not true to size. I would go up a size next time but great quality for my dinner theater murder mystery event.

I bought this dress for a colonial game night I hosted in a historic tavern/museum. After reading reviews, I sized up and bought a medium when I normally wear a small. I’m glad I did, the medium fits me well and it is super comfortable. The dress looks very well made and authentic. I’m amazed it’s so reasonably priced for what you get. I got so many compliments! I thought this would be a thing I’d just wear once, but now I can’t wait for the next excuse to wear it!

Fits smaller than expected and cheaper quality than anticipated, but got here a day early and looks nice. I could crash diet for a few weeks and it'll fit ok. I don't need it till the second week of November, so I have some time to fit into it. Over all not the best experience I've had buying costumes online but not the worst either.

Although it’s a little tight in the bust for a 38DDD, the shape is great. I was surprised to see it’s shape is as depicted in the picture. The material is a bit thin, but not see-through, just poor quality material. But this is a great dress at this price range.

I am 5'8. The dress hits just below mid-calf, not full length. The white of the collar does not reach high on the neck at all. It barely reaches beyond the base of my neck. The arms are tight, leaving me without a full range of motion. It is definitely styled for a petite person. The bodice even is almost an umpire waist, not the natural waist, as I expected it to be. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied.The fabric is thin. I don't think it will last for very long.

I purchased a medium (I normally wear a size 6-8 and am 5’6”). This dress was comfortable and light enough that I did not get too hot while teaching 12th grade ELA. I wore it for our cosplay day during homecoming week and was comfortable. Only problem was that I purchased the navy and the kids all wanted to know if I was a nun or pilgrim. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I would wear it again though and would recommend to others.

The dress (including the white collar) is a wrinkled mess. I'm probably going to have it steamed at the dry cleaner because the material is so thin i'm afraid an iron will burn through it. If i had time to find something else, i'd return it. Far too expensive for the cheap material.

I'm about 58kg-168cm (124 lbs - 5ft5) and ordered the M size. It fits me perfectly.The only thing to know is that the fabric is not extensible, contrary to other dresses from the brand I bought. I don't have a large breast so not an issue for me.
