Compact, Sturdy, and Functional
This will be generally first impressions because I've only been using this for a day, but I wanted to also touch on a few concerns I read in other reviews.First off, the design is actually pretty simple but nice. I would guess an aluminum casing with the Kingston branding accompanied by a black plastic back for SD and micro SD insertion with a honeycomb pattern. It looks sleek and its not bulky or heavy at all.I don't really know how to do a speed test. The device using USB 3.0 but I'm gonna assume that the speeds will still vary greatly on the SD card used. I used a Sony SDHC 70mb/s class 10 32GB card to run basic tests. The speed wasn't bad but if you expected USB 3.0 speeds, it will underwhelm you. I think with the USB 3.0 you'll get roughly the max speed possible with the card so I do like that the device is USB 3.0 compatible but experiences will vary.Touching on the two main concerns I read about in other reviews. Heat and size of the port. I left the drive plugged in with reading or writing to it for over an hour without any major heat issues. It did get warm but, nothing out of the ordinary or dangerous. I also tried reading and writing large files to it and while I experienced slightly more heat, it still did not seem hot or dangerous. Also, I read that the port was a bit too snug for USB ports making it hard to insert or remove and even cause the back casing to come off in the process. I did not experience this either. I tried both of my USB 3.0 ports at home on my computer and I tried two separate AmazonBasic USB extenders(1x 2.0 / 1x 3.0) and found no extra difficulty inserting the drive or removing it. This could be a batch issue but as far as my device in 12/15, I didn't have this issue.Overall I like it. I don't like having to carry cords around for all my devices to plug into my computer and transfer files. I can carry this around or leave it plugged in as a SD or micro SD reader which my computer does not have. For now it has been functional and for the price of ~$9 I can easily recommend this. If it doesn't hold up to the test of time, I will come back to change my review.

Easy to use and BLAZING fast!
I had an 8-year-old micro sd card reader (see photo), also made by Kingston, and it wouldn't read my new SanDisk micro sd card. I called Kingston, and they said it MAY be that the 8-year-old card reader that I was using could be the problem. That maybe my old card would be better suited finding a drive-in movie theater and watching this new, juggernaut of a film called E.T.So, you're telling me it's old, then? lol. Uh...YEAH.I plugged in the micro sd card to this new Kingston reader, and it worked perfectly. Windows popped up right away with a window asking what I wanted to do. Transfer files, please. Here's the fantastic part:I transferred 50.5 GB in less than 5 minutes! Maybe faster than that, I shoulda timed it. It would move, like 400 MB, in the count of 3! Just super, SUPER fast (If you're reading this review in 2028, try not to bust a rib laughing at how slow that is!).My computer has a USB 3.0 and this card is also 3.0 speed (you can tell this because the tab inside the USB port will be BLUE). If you DON'T see a blue tab on your computer, then this will NOT transfer files nearly as fast.I also like that "SD" is engraved on one side of the reader and "Micro SD" is engraved on the other in case you weren't sure. This reader does read SD and MicroSD.I can't speak to the durability cuz I've only used it once. I don't plan on using this to change my car tire, so I suspect it will last a while.I also would've liked to see some kind of a cute little case to hold this in. It IS exposed to the elements of whatever drawer you keep it in without a case to protect it from dust, etc.I posted a picture of a little box I got at the container store for a dollar. It's a nice fit.Hope this was helpful!

Great Value, fastest reader I tried, it does get warm.
I tested 8 cards with this device and got higher speeds compared to results given in reviews for same cards using other readers. It might deserve one star less because it does get quite warm during reading/writing, but no card was damaged or malfunctioned during 80 GB transfer and for the price I paid, I do not dare click on the fourth star. The fit is somewhat snug but not excessive. Removing the card while device is hot, requires some effort. If you let the device cool down, cards slide out with ease. For those of you who complain on the width, have in mind that this reader accommodates full size SD cards and therefore has to be that wide. I do not have USB 3.0 ports on the front of my PC, so I use USB 3.0 extension cable which does take away about 1 MB speed away compared to it plugged in directly into the USB port on the back of the case, but I avoid the issue of blocked ports and it is simply convenient. Simple, sturdy design with aluminum body which helps it cool down fast. I highly recommend this fast, versatile reader.

Almost perfect!
Good read and write speeds, very pleased that two cards can be inserted and read at the same time (with reduced speed). I don't believe this comes even close to saturating a USB 3 port even with the fastest cards available. Build quality is spot on and the device feels as though it won't fall apart for decades. The only issue with this product is that it gets EXTREMELY (as in knee jerk reaction) hot to the touch when left in the port without a card. This is either a cut corner on the internal circuitry or a terrible oversight. As long as I am sure to have a card in the device when I insert AND remove it from the port, I am pleased to say I think this will be my daily driver card reader for quite some time.

Excellent card reader
I have been using one of these at work for several years. I have never had a problem with it, it's fast and it's reliable. It will take a full sized SD card or a uSD card, or both at the same time. I have never found an SD card that doesn't work in it. Because of this, I have ordered a second card reader.I have been having all sorts of problems with cheap usb flash drives failing. This is not good as we use them to install Windows 10, and every time there is a failure we have to download Windows 10 again or use an optical drive. So I have also ordered a couple of 32GB uSD cards that are also Kingston and they are very inexpensive. Since I have two card readers, this will allow me two devices to install Windows 10 with, and I can still use them for other things as well. The only disadvantage of this card reader is its width. If you have a narrow space around the USB port(s) on your computer, this drive may not fit. I have not had this issue with laptops or tablets, but I have seen a few desktops with front ports that are recessed, so this card reader will not fit in them.

ECCELLENTE, PORTABILITA ESTREMA E QUALITA COSTRUTTIVA ALTISSIMA
Inserisco alcune fotoGrazieStefano

Best Card Reader Ever
Expensive as a card reader but you get a fantastic piece of technology........ Its body is made of metal .... there are no seams so i think they milled it out of a single block of aluminium .... speed is good and you can insert two cards at the same time and work on both .... so if you have lots of micro sd card lying around you can use this to use the cards as a pendrive as well...... the built quality is great and i believe it should last for a long time ..... money well invested.
