BePuzzled | Love Hanayama Metal Brainteaser Puzzle Mensa Rated Level 1, for Ages 12 and Up

This is one of two Hanayama puzzles I bought recently. Both of them are VERY sturdy polished metal construction. They operate very smoothly, look classy, and can easily be solved in seconds "behind the back" once you know the trick. But they both require you to "know the trick" to solving them, and the solution is counter-intuative, so they'll keep guests busy trying to figure them out, and very satisfied with themselves after they work it out. They're the perfect puzzles to keep on the coffee table for guests to play with, with no change of even a rough strong kid breaking them. Hanayama makes quite a few other puzzles, but these looked like the ones that were the "most challenging but quickly solvable" of the bunch. You can't get any simpler than a two-piece puzzle, and these pull it off well.

Husband is a fan of these types of puzzles and enjoyed it! It was a challenge and that's hard to find!

I am a puzzle addict. I own numerous puzzles and puzzle boxes (some that take 60 minutes to open), in addition of doing doing 24 escape room games.I love Hanayama puzzles and this is no exception. I didn't buy this one for so long since it was a very low difficulty and I like the harder puzzles. I figured why not?I am glad I did, this puzzle is as we expect from Hanayama puzzles. It is well made, crafted strong, very durable, and feels very solid. This puzzle is made to last and feel good in your hands. I just love the feel and the sounds that cast iron make.As this is a level 1 puzzle, you expect it to be easy, which it is. I love the amount of moves you need to make, more then I was expecting!Overall it took me about a minute or less to solve, my 9 year old took him under 2 minutes, and my 12 and 13 year old took around 3 minutes. No hints taken or given.This is a perfect gift, conversation starter, or something to do at work while reading documents/emails. I love buying these for white elephant Christmas exchanges. Everyone likes these! Highly recommend!

I have 2 nephews so I bought 2 different versions of the Level 1 puzzles by this company. My nephews are 11 and 8. As soon as they opened these, they had them out of the boxes and were trying to figure them out. Mind you, they were in the middle of opening a stack of Christmas gifts, but they still didn't hesitate to rip into them!Everyone wanted in on trying their hand with them. The ages ranged from 72 year old grandparents, 40ish aunts and uncles, 20ish cousins, down to the actual ages of the gift recipients. In other words, they seem to be a crowd pleaser regardless of the age of the crowd.I wasn't sure about what level to buy when I was looking at the complexity. I didn't want it to be too easy so that it didn't require any effort (less fun) but I also didn't want it to be too hard (discouraging). I probably should have bought level 2 for each of them to start. The trout puzzle took the 8 year old less than 2 minutes to take apart and put back together. The diamond Level 1 was a little more difficult, but still took less than 5 minutes. For some it was more like 8-10 minutes.I highly recommend these puzzles! Not only are they fun, they are also well made. They are a really nice gift that is affordable.

I am very sensitive to metallic smells and this item left such a smell on my fingers (which I find unpleasant).Loop: I pulled it out of the package and it immediately separated into the two parts. Took me about a minute or two to reassemble, but it is, IMO, way easier than Key. No metallic smell, so I plan to favor ones that look like this. :)

Super easy level 1 puzzle. Liked the way it feels.

What a pleasant little puzzle! I purchased “donuts” and “infinity” first and was able to solve donuts, but wanted something a little more simple to fiddle with for fun. I made some progress on “infinity” but it just wasn’t relaxing to try to memorize the steps so I set it aside for now, the rest of life is a little too hectic these days. This was exactly what I was looking for. I will enjoy putting it together and taking it apart a few times, and sharing it with friends and family.I plan to choose some more Hanayama puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty but will continue to check the reviews first. Most appear to be very sturdy and high quality but a few models have lower reviews for weak joints or poor intercalation.

Love this little puzzle. I like working my brain and my hands. It's level 1 but intricate enough to be interesting. Will definitely be purchasing more levels.

Es pequeño pero de excelente calidad, fue para un regalo. Considero que como iniciación esta bien pero para algunas personas puede ser muy fácil... Yo subestimé al destinatario pero aun así le gustó

Great quality. First level is pretty easy. Got it quick. But still fun! Especially watching people try it for the first time.
