Too sophisticated for my 1 1/2 year old grandson who is obsessed with hats. But by the time he’s 3 he’ll love it

Have always loved this book since I was a small child, can't remember how many times I borrowed it from my local library. In true Dr Seuss style, such a delightfully surreal story with beautiful illustrations throughout and a nice glossy hardback cover to boot!

Not his best book

The Dr. Seuss publishing company has every right to decide which books it will discontinue and which it will keep in print just like any other publishing company. They could have decided to re-illustrate but that's not their decision. So get over it! That's not cancel culture. That's free-market capitalism and the book publishing business responding to the free-market. There are still many great Seuss books like "500 Hats" in print which I read to my children and purchased for my grandchildren.

My father used to read this story to me as a child and I wanted to ensure my nursery had a copy to carry on the tradition of this story.It arrived in perfect condition. Excellent font and pictures. Hardcover and no damage. Excellent purchases.

'The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins' was a favourite book of mine back in the late 1950s, then a favourite book of my children in the 1980s and 1990s. Now it is being enjoyed by another generation. Some stories are ageless and this is one. It is a story for parents to read at bedtime and then for children to read for themselves.

We have many of the Dr.Seuss books and find that the original series are truly fantastic with inventive fun stories, terrific rhymes and great illustrations. The newer or later series are not up to the level of the originals and lack the magic of the timeless older stories. Yellow back books seem to be our favourites because the stories are often longer and more entertaing.

the quality of print/paper can be better

Quand une nuit, le drôle de nom "Batholomew Cubbins" a fait éruption dans mon esprit, je me suis soudain souvenu de ce merveilleux livre de Dr. Seuss que ma maman me lisait quand j'étais petite. Il a fallu que je le commande. Et je ne suis pas déçue! au contraire. L'humour espiègle et l'intelligence de l'auteur, sans parler des dessins merveilleux, sont toujours intacts! C'est pour les enfants, mais aussi pour les adultes auxquels je recommande chaleureusement de LIRE AUX ENFANTS!
