Excellent Dictionary
I am learning Korean. This dictionary has been very useful. Please note if you are new to learning Korean: The Korean to English section is in the "alphabetical order" of Hanguel. You must know Hanguel in order to use this dictionary. Also, many definitions include various uses for a word. I am very happy with this dictionary.

Great for a Korean ELL.
I purchased this book for my daughter a couple weeks ago, and she's been using it up! She finds that it has all the vocabulary she needs to help her in high school. It has references in Hangul as well as Romaji, which makes it easy to find words. The English side has pronunciation guides in English, as well as the Hangul definition. It is the most useful tool for transitioning from one language to another I've found in the US,

The Good and Bad
The Good: It has a great introduction which explains a lot of the funny rules (to an english speaker) that the language has. The introduction also includes examples. Another thing I liked about it was the romanization next to the hangul words (although I can see how it could be distracting to someone who already knows how to read the language). I'm of mixed feelings about how the words are organized. It makes sense, but to someone who may need to look up the definition as a beginner, I'm thinking some hunting may have to be done if you aren't quite sure what character the word starts with. The Bad: The romanization is based on the official rules of romanizing the language, which is how it should be done, however if you have never heard the language or don't really know how to pronounce the words it can throw you off. (Watch a subtitled korean music video and you'll see what I mean) Also the english to korean side usually has several different words you could use (depending, I'm assuming on the situation), but it doesn't explain or give examples to show which ones to use when. The words that have examples are very helpful though. Finally the description mentions that it has appendices that include names of languages and ethnicities, kinship terms, and numbers, but I did not see any of that (and it's not in the table of contents). This is a good book for someone who has already been introduced to the language, but is still considered a beginner. It would probably be helpful to someone who already knows the language, but may become distracting. Other study material will probably be necessary if trying to learn the language on your own.

Seems like a good choice for beginners
I'm a complete beginner, and I noticed that another reviewer praised this dictionary for listing words in Hangeul alphabetical order. So I was surprised to find no explanation of that order in the introductory section of this dictionary. I did an online search and found a helpful explanation that almost matches the order in this dictionary, but this is a puzzling omission.I'm also wondering if the romanization is a useful feature or a waste of space. If you focus initially on learning correct pronunciation and how to read Hangeul, romanization becomes a distraction.

Very good dictionary
I love the dictionary. It has a lot of words and I like that it has korean-english/english-korea. The only issue I have is that some words have more then one definition in korean and I'm not sure which word is appropriate to use when. The dictionary does try to help at times with some examples but it can be hard for those in a beginner level. Overall I wouldn't discourage even beginners to get this because it help fuels questions and can be even more useful as you progress in level.

Recommended (Best I've tried). Works well for both Korean/English speakers
I have 5 Korean/English Dictionaries. This is the only one that is any good. For one thing, it doesn't romanize the Korean entry words. The Korean entries are also sorted properly in 가, 나, 다 order and not using the alphabet. I think a Korean learning English and English speaker learning Korean could both use this dictionary.Romanization is fine, in moderation, but I shouldn't have to remember how a Korean word is romanized in that particular dictionary to find it when all I want to do is look up what it means.

The dictionary did take a few days longer to arrive than promised. The condition was like new. However the print is very small and hard to read. I think this may make it hard on new pupils who are just starting to read the language or on older people who do not see so well. I am satisfied that I got what I paid.

Deberían de hacer este diccionario Español-Coreano
Me gusto mucho ya que cuando lo buscas el Significado en coreano viene también la Romantización ( inglés como en coreano) de la palabra y para mí sí es muy importante porque aprendo escribir como va la palabra y no solamente por fonética.El diccionario está muy completo.

It is a reader's dictionary
Most entries give multiple translations with no attempt to explain the difference, so if you are attempting to find the correct Korean term for an English word you know (or vice versa), it is not helpful unless you already know it and merely need to refresh your memory. This dictionary should be sold as two volumes, since only one will be useful for you.
