Excellent
Pioneer a well known brand and another excellent product. Fantastic upgrade for 2005 civic. Easy to install with the right harness and trim kit (<£20 on ebay). Sharp screen, responsive, and powerful sound output. DAB, Carplay, microphone - has everything you need to modernise an older vehicle.

you must have an professional fit this product!
this stereo system is awesome! the operation of it is really easy and simple once fitted correctly, and it looks awesome, i also have no problem using WAZE app, and TOMTOM go app in the carplay, the interface is quite easy to understand and the microphone supplied with it is high quality.i had to buy a seperate DAB digital ariel, which is no problem but it would be nice to know this as the car ariel wasnt long enough to reach the main plug in the system, (this is what the auto electrician told me)

NOT wireless Apple Carplay, lets be clear.
Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB 2-Din 7" touchscreen multimedia player with Apple Carplay:Very important: Do you want WIRELESS Apple Carplay? This unit doesn't have it.You will have to buy an additional adapter for £30-£100. Pioneer doesn't sell one.The product description is worded carefully to suggest that everything works via bluetooth but for Carplay you actually need a direct connection via the USB or wifi adapter.I purchased this with the main aim of adding Apple Carplay and Waze to a 2011 Honda Civic. This version of the car came with a double din Pioneer system from factory. It had 2010 on the back of the unit but I remember that model and design being much older. The screen size was a 6.1 or 6.4 inch so this would be an upgrade to 7 inch in the same form factor. In order to reduce the chances of the in car integration failing I decided on sticking with the same Pioneer brand to ensure things like cabling and plugs were similar and that the steering wheel buttons would work but for some reason the main plug was now reversed with an extra plastic tab added just to make reusing the previous pioneer plug impossible. This should have been a straight forward slide out the head unit with the keys, switch plugs and then slide in, however because the head unit was adding form factory, Honda secured it with a bolted on bracket that could only be access from the rear. Cue having to remove the whole centre console trim and some of the dash...A lot of what follow was an Honda Civic issue and not really the fault of the product but I did have to get creative for this to work. Like the main cable wasn't plug and play, I had to do some rewiring to get that to work fully.-Once fitted the only obvious issue was that the radio signal was not as strong or clear as it used to be.-Not getting anything from the DAB radio but I don't know much about that enough to play around with it. Lets just say the 'find station' button had zero results.-As mentioned before, no wireless Apple Carplay. I spent 15 mins trying to find a 'Carplay' button but there was none, until I plugged in the phone via USB, to which it just started working.Other than that, the touch screen is responsive, No lag. Bright and crisp. The systems sounds great.Car play works very well and GPS tracking through Waze looks accurate. The steering buttons for volume, forward/backs and mode change all work once you've set up the Honda dash clock. The car now feels up to date. Just waiting for the wireless adapter to arrive.

I wouldn't if I were you.
After owning this for four months I can say, while the audio is good my car battery suddenly started dying, eventually the battery was totally dead and needed to be replaced (£130), I thought it was just an old battery, but weeks later the new one was dead too. Took the car to a car electrician (£108ph) thinking there was some sort of internal fault and it couldn't possibly be the stereo because it had been in for months with no problems. £324 later, it's the stereo that is waking up my car and draining my battery. No seller contact details available, fortunately Amazon is refunding it. But I'm still down £454 quid because of this unit.I'd avoid and get something else if I were you. Dodgy af.

Only works with ignition on
I'll only give it three as regardless how I wire the red/yellow to the vehicle it will only work when the ignition is on. I can't get it to switch on with the key in the aux position in the ignition. Otherwise seems to be fine. DAB seems better than with the original Pioneer unit bit I did fit ferrite cores as well. Sound output also seems better with original speakers.Just a pity it won't run unless the ignition is on ☹️

Love this
This is a simple stereo that works well in my 1976 VW Camper. It has everything it needs incl a great holder for your phone so you don't need separate Satnav or a bigger unit.
