After 70 years of indignities on the planet, it's clear that time hasn't mellowed George Carlin out any with this HBO special-his final concert appearance. No one is safe from Carlin's trenchant commentary as he dispenses cutting observations on such sacred cows as Lance Armstrong, patriotism, America, and even death itself. Special Features: Audio: (unspecified) English Additional Release Material: Interviews - 1. George Carlin Running Time 69 Minutes.

George Was One Of The BEST!!
He told it like it was and is. I can't get enough of his performances because most everything he says makes great sense! The only people that have a problem with his voice of common sense are the SHEEP. Today, there are more SHEEP in this existence than ever in past generations. The Great Scam-demic has PROVEN THAT!! Don't forget to get your Poisonous JAB and hey... Put that Sheep's mask back on so you can recirculate your carbon monoxide and bacteria back into your lungs. Then maybe you can help the medical industry make more money by experiencing more health issues! Oh and when you're in your car all by yourself... KEEP THAT MASK ON!! You might catch a disease from your CAR!!! Hahahaha.... Or when you're outside walking or Jogging by yourself... KEEP your mask on!! ...Stupid SHEEP!!!

Complacency Kills
This is George Carlin through and through. George Carlin has educated a generation of miserable and obedient slaves who have taken his wisdom for granted. A generation that has endured the most abject humiliations, worked themselves to death, and sacrificed their children to the factory. I understand that most people are watching purely for entertainment purposes and they have every intention to forget any wisdom bestowed before he even makes it off stage. This man has every right to be cynical in his final show and your expectation of morality is a sign of sheepish patience. Now that he has finally drilled the point home by emphasizing its importance thru a more "cynical" act instead of "playful" it makes you feel embarrassed and bashful because you finally see the foolishness in your complacency. THIS MAN IS AN ARTIST: and his approach and demeanor are 100% on point. Will I start a revolution tomorrow...? NO, but I will heed his wisdom and give his final show the rating that it deserves to counteract the sheep afraid of change. GREAT SHOW FROM A VERY WISE ARTIST, ENJOY!

George Carlin... too cynical? What??!?!?
Some of the reviews saying Carlin was too cynical or angry here makes me wonder which George Carlin these people grew up watching. George was a cynic and a fierce critic of society as far back as the 70's with his "Seven Dirty Words"; he eventually incorporated political commentary into his act in the 80's and he only got more cynical from there, as he realized - before many of us did - that life is all just bulls**t (and it's bad for ya!). So I'm perplexed why people are complaining about his cynicism or meanness or nastiness - um, he was always that way, folks...that's why most of us loved him. So ignore the bad reviews, sit back and enjoy what was George's final stand-up special. RIP G.C., wish you were still here.

It's Good For Ya
I saw this on T.V. and decided to buy it both for my own entertainment and to share with others. Carlin probably is in large measure the stereotypical cynical, cranky old man. But he must be self-aware enough of that fact to wrap it all in humor. It is often a very biting humor, but he is so outrageous with some of it that it is hystericalMy favorite part is his dissection of religion. His mockery of it is rooted in a commonsensical analysis. He pokes fun at it, while genuinely believing that those who embrace the supernatural, er, bunk, are nuts.I'm less tickled by much of his political material which strikes me as virulently anti-American and, in particular, left-wing on the loony side. But some of it is funny.I'm not a fan of bits where he goes on too long in a sort of a Milton Berle goofiness. Just not my bag. But if you are already a Carlin fan, you'll love it. If you're not, I think it's well worth watching. You'll either be convinced that he's not for you, or you'll want to see more and more!If you're considering this DVD, you're looking for humor, and you should buy it.

First time seeing him, enjoyed enormously
First Carlin performance I watched, and really enjoyed it. What he had to say about pride in particular - be proud of something you have achieved or attained, not of how you were born - Irish, Italian, White, Jewish, Russian.. White, Black.. or “Rainbow”, for that matter. All that is an accident, not something to take credit for and be proud of. So poignant and true. One of the best stand up performers I’ve seen, way beyond just “comedian”. Relatively low on profanity. His atheism is amusing and very primitive, showing that he was a good guy with a good heart.. hope he had a chance to gain a better perspective in the remaining months before he died.

George was NEVER bad for ya, isn't now and NEVER will be!
What a perfect way to go out, GO OUT BIG!, I mean seriously, George left us suddenly and unexpectedly but he left us a legacy of laughs that can never be taken away from us and IT'S BAD FOR YA is absolutely no exception. From the get go, George had me going until he left the stage when he was done, it was pure comedic genius.HIS TAKE ON RELIGIONHIS TAKE ON LIFEHIS TAKE ON CHILDRENHe goes on and on and on and you cannot help but sit there and think about what this man is telling you, YES, he's a comedian and YES, he's supposed to make you laugh but he also makes you think about this stuff and realize that maybe...just maybe we are all in a world of S**T!The Special features were great too, the first one was an Interview with George taken from the Archives of American TV found at EMMYTVLEGENDS.ORG and the other was his performance 40 years ago on the Jackie Gleason Show, it was pretty funny for TV that is anyway.I loved the DVD, it was his last performance and as far as I'm concerned, he went out on top and he'll stay there for eternity!REST IN PEACE GEORGE!!!

Much missed...much mimicked...never bettered.
"Rights aren't rights if someone can take them away...they're privileges!" George Carlin at 70 years old and in his final HBO special. Maybe not his best, but still worth seeing. If only he were still around today...

I’m as angry as he is. But not about the DVD
I’ve written the same sort of thing on his other DVD’s I’ve purchased, but Carlin is still huge fun to watch, even if on at this stage he had less of a filter and really was as angry as he appeared, you can’t help but agree with about all he says
