Great value, nice and stable storage for razor and brush
This chrome stand is nice and solid. It holds my shaving brush and razor with excellent stability. Itโs got some weight to it and wonโt tip over accidentally. Itโs easy to use. Just place it on the counter, hang your brush and razor, and youโre done!

Fantastic Product
Fantastic quality. I was a bit hesitant at first to purchase a stand, but I had just got into shaving with a traditional safety razor (great decision by the way) and I felt the stand was necessary; particularly for ensuring the Badger brush retained its texture and shape. This stand not only serves its purpose in terms of functionality, but also aesthetically. A traditional shave is a great, soothing experience and this stand contributes to making your shave as enjoyable as possible. The chrome plating matches my Murker razor almost exactly, and the weighted base gives the stand a sturdy, quality feel. No complaints whatsoever, I can't think of anything they could improve here. I decided it was time to see what the classic shave was all about... After a little research, I purchased Proraso Shaving Soap, a Merkur (long handled) safety razor, an Escali Badger brush, and a Perfecto chrome razor and brush stand. I didn't know what I had been missing, and I do not know why we have settled for the mediocre Gillette shave for so long. This is the ONLY way to shave. With regard to the Proraso shaving soap specifically, my experiences have been top notch. The sent reminds me of the barber shop; I would describe it almost as a combination of talcum powder and a mild soap. It froths up very well, and it has a numbing effect when lathered on the face. I shave with the cold water on (under which I repeatedly rinse my razor), and that numbing effect combined with the cold steel of the safety razor produces a very soothing and enjoyable shave. NOTE, however, it is recommended that you do NOT rinse your blade with cold water. You are supposed to rinse with warm water, as a cold blade can increase the chance of cutting yourself (I have yet to cut myself doing this, though). The Merkur (long handle) safety razor and Escali Badger brush both fit perfectly in their respective slots. I would highly recommend both of those products as well. I strongly believe that if the seller continues to provide this quality stand at its comparatively low price point, it will fair very well with this product.

Fantastic Shaving Brush Stand! Very Happy that I Purchases It!
I am very happy that I chose to purchase this stand for my shaving brush! It is very sturdy and handsome, and looks to last for years, which is a very important feature for me. I donโt like to contribute to waste unnecessarily, and this stand looks like it wonโt have that issue. I couldnโt find much product reviews beforehand when looking for a razor and brush stand to give any indications on which are the best made, longest lasting products out there, but feel like I made a good choice with this one. It looks very good as well, while being very sturdy, so the stand doesnโt get knocked over when taking my brush off, or putting it back on. The base is very tightly connected to the arm, so like that one review indicating an issue with this component, the one I have shows no indication of this ever being a problem. The brush I chose is made of synthetic bristles. I did this consciously, even though synthetic bristles are generally considered inferior to badger hair. I chose this due to the practice of harvesting badger hair, which is nowhere near cruelty free, and the animal is not being utilized as a food source; so the hair is not a left over material that can be easily accessed. The animal is killed for their bristles, and not to sustain life as a source of food. The brush stand holds the synthetic brush just fine, even though most brushes on the market are badgerโs hair, and most products are geared to be compatible with badger hair brushes. Definitely a five star product, bought from an equally impressive company! Thank you for the time and care in sending me a great stand thatโll last for years, if not decades!

Great, but won't work with some razors
After looking around, I settled on this stand. When it arrived it was solid and looked great. However, I use a Gillette Mach 3 style razor, and the razor just slid right off the stand. There is no adjustment that you can make as with some more expensive stands, so be aware that your razor may not work with this stand. I had to return it. So, one star off for lack of adaptability to all razors.

Beautiful Stand at a Beautiful Price
I am very pleased with this stand. It is well made and holds my brush perfectly. The razor, a two blade Gillette Sensor, will not stay in the stand, but that is not the stand's fault. The razor has a tapered head and it flips in the slot and falls through. Quick fix, I put two wire ties on the handle of the razor so that the retaining nubs are 180 degrees apart. The razor sits nicely on the nubs. It looks like hell, but works great. Long term fix is to buy a couple of o-rings the correct size and stretch over the razor supports on the stand. The o-rings will hold the razor against the back of the slot. Again these problems are caused by the shape of the razor not the stand. I have had this stand for only a week, but so far I am quite impressed with it. The stand has a simple mechanical beauty that is reflective of the Bauhaus movement. Simple, functional, yet beautiful. The chrome plating is thick and appears to be well applied. I believe it will resist rusting with the minimal of care. The knurling on the shaft and top nut are precise and functional. All in all it is hard to believe that this stand was as inexpensive as it is. My only concern is that the soft material lining the base may not resist water for long. The base appears to be solid under this material and I believe it will be an easy matter to replace the lining with an alternate material if it does get water damaged. An alternate fix for my razor problem would be to buy Merkur Futur razor. That would really make my stand look good, but I am afraid I would hurt myself with the Mekur! The o-ring seems a far cheaper and safer solution. Lest you think me a purist, the brush is faux-silver tipped badger made with synthetic fibers. My wife, an animal lover, would file for divorce if I bought a real badger brush. EDIT 9-10-15 While looking for something to get my o-ring order over $35 for free shipping (yes I know get Prime), I found a Merkur 38C razor. I think it does a lot to improve the looks of my stand. It turns out I don't need the o-rings. The Merkur barber pole long handle fits both under the head, or on the handle as shown and looks great.

Quality stand
This is a great stand. Itโs sturdy. It works well with a multitude of brushes I own however their branded brush fits perfectly like a glove on the stand. The stand excels when used with a double edge, razor and the flared ends, keep the flat bottom of the double edge razor from slipping off. However it struggles with some cartridge shavers, such as the Gillette mach3 as when I was using that razor the slightest bump would cause it to turn sideways and slip off the stand. I do not see this as a failing of the stand itself as it will still work with a shaver like a mach3, you just have to be careful with it. That being said there are others stands with the reverse issue which has grooves to hold a Gillette or Schick cartridge shaver but allows a double edge shaver to slip off with the slightest pump. This particular stand is very secure for a double edge and just about any brush. The stand looks nice, the materials feel nice, and I expect it to last a long time.

Perfect little stand
This stand is great for holding a razor and brush. I just started getting into DE shaving as a hobby and I integrated this stand into my morning routine. It holds my Merkur razor and badger brush perfectly. It does not wobble and I feel confident the razor will not fall and cause a safety issue. It cleans very well and looks great on my vanity. I highly recommend this stand. Here is the guide I follow when shaving and it has worked out very well for me: * Shave in the morning or at night after a shower. Having a shower softens the skin and opens the pores on your face. If you do not want to shower beforehand use a warm and wet towel on your face as a substitute * Use a pre-shave cream if you like. I recommend the Proraso cream but others work well. It helps soften your skin further and straightens the hair * Create your lather in a shaving mug or bowl. Wet your brush and scoop a small amount of soap into the bowl with the brush. Make several circular passes and add more soap/water depending on consistency. We are aiming for a very full and thick lather that will apply easily to your face and not drip at all * Make sure your blade is sharp and clean. Replace the blade frequently (Buy them in packs of 100 so it is super cheap) * Apply even strokes of your Razor to your face. Make sure you know what direction the grain goes to prevent any cuts. There are several youtube videos that show what direction you should shave based on the grain of your hair, it is important! * Clean your razor frequently. A dirty razor will not provide good clean cuts * Once you have finished the first pass apply more lather and do a quick second pass * Apply after shave oil or cream to prevent any burning of your face due to the close cut. Every face is different so this might not always be necessary This is my daily routine and I absolutely love it. Let me know if this was helpful!
