This grand finale to the Cromwell trilogy is just superb. While the first two volumes told us the story of Cromwell's rise in rather fast-paced plots, this is slow and quite poetic. This is about the fall of the tragic hero. Mantel makes Cromwell a tragic hero, a man whose tragic flaw brought him down. He rose higher than the king himself. The story is told with amazing dexterity. The history of the time comes alive in this bulky novel. Give it time and you'll relish it. It's not a potboiler.

A Perfect End to the Trilogy--a Masterpiece
What a magnificent end to the trilogy! The book, like it's predecessors, takes it time to invite you in. But the extended interior monologues--because that is what this trilogy is, rather than being a usual historical novel--takes you deep and binds you in pain. It has been a long time since one has lived through a character for so long. This trilogy has literally reinvented historical fiction. And I hope it will age well into immortality. We would not settle for anything less for our dear Crumb.

EXTREMELY BAD PRODUCT RECEIVED
I just received the book today sold by Cloudtail India Private Limited, spending Rs. 1916 behind this single item! First of all, what I received makes me feel like not even touching the book. It's a hardcover which I ordered and I can see bents and folds on the edges of it as well as the paper cover page above the book. Secondly, the edges of the papers itself looks like it has been cut unevenly with scissor or blades, god knows what! but the pages are not at all set properly. I can see along the edges, dust and almost seems like a used book. Third, the paper quality is of worst quality. The printings of one page leaves deep mark on the next and the paper quality used is so thin that it looks old and yellowish. So much for spending almost 2000 rupees for one book and a customer receiving this kind of product quality is just UNACCEPTABLE! I have the other two in the serious coming and I have no idea what horror I am going to see when I receive them too. Also, placed this item for replacement which means MORE WAIT! Just hoping I will receive my order in good shape and quality Amazon! Even this 1 star is what I did not want to rate this time but have no other option less than this. Not at all satisfied with this horror of a product for sure!
